Hydrolic problems, that I think shit themselves on landing... contaminated the runway.

I'm picking that a few were orbiting all over the place... I'd bet that was about the time that the Jetstream ran off the runway in Auckland and would have cause a bit of holding as the runway was closed for about 30 mns.

It's a shame though that so many are tending towards photos and vinyl rather then good old skillful airbrushing :-( make it just look tacky.

Pretty annoying auto-adverts tho... trying to find out how to purchase advert-free viewing!! And having to watch the same advert twice each time was salt in the wounds!!
I know they have to gather advertising revenue... but why interrupt viewing?? Why not just keep the advertising banners... I don't mind them... at least you don't miss any of the action.

That KevinK guy is an idiot, and more so is the NZ Herald for purchasing and printing his story. "Round the Clock" implies 24hr loss of sleep... the RNAV-X and RNAV-Y approaches are only flown between the hours of 7am-10pm and probably make less noise than a car driving past their property... maybe we should shut off the roads in Epsom?? And as for those noisey pedestrians?? Birds.... now they make a racket too... all their incessant twittering and tweeting. Babies! Now don't get me started on them!! They wake you at all hours of the night and just because they're hungry!! I know... let's outlaw babies... no one step further... outlaw sex!!! Let's see how much support there is for that!!

No... they always sit "turning and burning"... and it includes heavies waiting for the international apron!

And then they often wait on the ground for up to 20mins for a gate!

No photo sorry as I was working but Leech bought in a Cessna P210 N526CH re-engined with a RR Turbine... came direct from Aussie, but he said he'd picked it up 10 days ago from Switzerland... and it's going to be based here. Looked like quite a weapon! But here's a photo of it from JetPhotos....

The only two I've got are these ones... It is about 3rd or 4th on the restoration list apparently and awaiting funding.

Wrote a "quick" article for the NZ Aerobatic Club website on my Oshkosh Adventure... My Bucket List Item. Links to my Google+ albumns of visits to various Aviation Museums are at the bottom of the page. Just had a quick look (time for bed) but my eagle I spied a TBF Avenger (the real deal Grummman built Avenger this time not a later General Motors built TBM-3E!), did you take any more photos of it? Looks like you had a great time. Trip to the US is on my bucket list! I took over 3500 photos, so you're gunna have to be a little more specific!! Don't know the difference between the two types??

OK... so I've started going through my photos... rather than re-post them here I've uploaded them to Facebook (for those "friends" of mine) and also to Google+... Here's a link to the Google+ photos Slackie's Google+ AirVenture Photos. Best to run the Slideshow to get the full frame of each photo...it seems that some are clipped in the Gallery display. The first few photos are of my 7hr stopover in LA then the flight to Chicago O'Hare and Appleton. The last couple are from Appleton to Chicago. After the Oshkosh portion of my trip I rented a car and drove round SoCal going to as many aviation museums as I could find... I'll post photos of them in the coming days, although probably not in this thread... maybe Aviation Photography??

I'm going as well... Fly out on Sunday via LA to Chicago to Appleton, then shuttle direct to the Airshow Grounds... will be knackered on day 1 but you do what you gotta do!! Also staying in Camp Scholler, managed to muscle into a caravan with a couple of American guys that have been going for years... yet to meet them... hope they're not axe murderers!! Really looking forward to it and getting pretty excited... First time to the states and Oshkosh of course... a real bucket list item... wife says "make the most of it cost it aint going to be a regular event!" Hope to meet Bruce over there... funny if we meet for the first time in Wisconsin USA rather than Hamilton NZ!!
