""I'll get to try out my brand new Nikon D7000!!""
You lucky sod, I have my eye on one of those - what were your first impressions? Unfortunately I was stuck at the (boys) cricket, otherwise you would have been welcome to try out my 70-300 VR on it.
Cheers, Chris.

Beautiful shots Gavin, all of them. What a sight, four Beavers over Gisborne ...

rod, the various trucks in the photos are marked Marlborough Transport, Horrell & Co. Engineers, and Mid-Canterbury Transport, so would seem to fit curtiss's story

I don't know Don either, but the answers to Perardua's questions are all there further back in this thread, as is the connection with Ross McPherson's manuscript. Anyone familiar with this forum knows that Don is more than qualified to contribute to such a history. Perardua, for someone apparently new to this forum, or at least this discussion, you might like to try a more friendly approach if you want to find these things out?

Thanks for the great photos, especially Kerry's near-vertical Spitfire shot, my favourite so far.

Only other photos I took were of the trusty Harvards ... ... and this guy who was stooging around for a while waiting for a break in the Warbird traffic and nasty squalls coming down the harbour - took his turn as well eventually. A couple of Chipmunks and the Beaver also went over - most were too far away, didn't come down close enough for decent photos, and didn't hang around afterwards - can't blame them! Cheers, Chris

Well done to you guys for getting so many planes up - bloody awful conditions, but it was worth the windy wait to have a first glimpse of the Spitfire in the air, and to see the three fighters up there together. All we need now is a Hurricane to have the full set!
