Beaten to the punch again. Looking forward to seeing this in real life, the Navy often Park their boats overnight or do drills off Whangaparaoa so hopefully this will also pop by when it gets here. In the meantime perhaps the crew could see if they could strategically relocate anything left lying around unused and or unguarded.

Been able to watch over 1/2 of the operational Navy over the last few days, The Manawanui and IPV and OPV were parking themselves off the local beach for overnights. The Manawanui was lit up like Christmas tree looked impressive.

For me there's a flaw with this.....I need the shops to open (need a new nozzle for the airbrush) before I can finish modelling but for the modelling to happen the shops need to be open, you see the dilemma.

Hi Guys, I'm after information/photographs on the above, my grandfathers unit during World War 2. I have his copy of the Official History but finding photographs and any other information I'm finding problematic, It was one of those stories of if I knew then what I know now I would have asked him while he was alive, stories mum has passed along involves him driving part way through a minefield and upon finding out he reversed out and the other has do with keys to a Brewery in Cario that are in the family somewhere. I'm also aware he often drove ambulances and was tasked with collecting the dead and wounded. Anyway if anyone has any info I'd be grateful.

Hi All found this interesting article on the war zone(worth a read) but was taken with the photo inside the hangar with the Kiwi Skrikemaster but I was really interested in the Strikemaster/Jet Provost in the foreground. Would b keen to see any other pictures of this unusual bird. Tried to post the photo but had a few troubles so's here the link instead.

In between masking up the camo for my Mk 1a Spitfire (Airfix Kit not the real thing unfortunately) and planning a couple of assignments for my degree I came across these two sites. I'll take a punt and guess they may have already been seen but if not.... I do have a bit of a soft spot for Fire Trucks of all persuasions.

Hi Paul, Nice looking Corsairs there-what paints and colours did you use, I'm just waiting for a cheapish Tamiya kit to show up.

Hi Dave, Thanks for that, I had a sneaking suspicion that was the case. As an aside in the Documentary series 'Battle Stations Corsair Pacific Warrior'-on Youtube the tail of what I believe is an RNZAF Kittyhawk is briefly shown at 15 minutes 47 secounds.

Hi Guys, I was wondering if the RNZAF operated the early variant of the Corsair with the Birdcage canopy and the cutouts behind the cockpit. I'm considering purchasing the Tamiya one to build but don't want to go with an American marked aircraft.
Cheers

From their site..., exploring the development of air power from the earliest days of flight to now and the future.
and
Both seemed interesting so I thought I'd share them.

In combat I wonder how you get around Time lag issue ie: from UAV to ground station(input) back to UAV I know its a second or two it doesn't seem like much but look at the issues you can get with live TV (not including any built in censor time you often get delays of many seconds) at speeds that combat take place does anyone know how this effects things.

I see it is being reported that Ron Mark has used his National defence trumps Environment court powers to exempt Whenuapai from the noise restrictions. Personally I see this as a win for common sense, but it really should never have even been an issue.

Re KIWI III
Does anyone know if it wore more than one scheme on its undersides- Ie During Operation Dynamo if it wore the Black/White scheme then repainted during the BoB to Sky. I've got the Airfix Mk1 Spit in 1/48 and would like to do a NZ piloted Spit with the 2 tone underside if possible.
Thanks Guys

Sorry to a little political here but I'd be more concerned with 'conditions expected in Antarctica in that time given climate change' comment from seemingly educated people. What does he think all the ice will melt in about 8 years I'm sorry but some people need their heads read, and National had more than enough time during its last stint in power to replace everything and did very little..... So pissed off now. Here endith the rant. Apologises again
