Hi Guys You may already have seen this
His story is similar to my ex father in law who was an instructor here in NZ before doing a Combat tour in late 44 early 45.

Not wanting to be a death monger or anything. But perhaps we need a couple of major mishaps to show that you can't keep flying 50 yr old+ aircraft indefinitely (Damn. me and the Orions are the same age)(Tender now open to replace). On this basis NASA would still be flying out each space shuttles 100 mission life. Thats with a 40% vehicle failure and flight failure rate of approx 1.5%.I know different technologies and all that just saying.

Hi Guys, I posted this question on the P3k2 Board but no replies I guess my query may have gotten lost in the clutter. My query is this to replace the Orion are we looking at 2 separate types 1 looking like the P-8 and another some form of Civilian Maritime Surveillance type? I keep reading talk of two types just after a little clarification
Cheers

Hi Guys. A quick clarification please. Is the Govts intention to replace the Orion with 1 or 2 types? Ie the P-8(Maybe) for military use and some kind of dedicated long range patrol a/c for fisheries and SAR. I'm a little confused. Thanks

Just think a re-constituted combat-wing going to waste, pity we're 70+years to late

Hi All the airforce/navy is doing some interesting trainning just off Whangaparoa involing a Sprite and a couple of RHIBs. Was buisly writing an essay for tech, and could hear a chopper looked up and hovering no more than about 20 feet off the water was a Sea Sprite with a couple of RHIBs not sure what sort of training but a pleasant distration.

Hi Guys Looking for some info. I came across this entry on Wikis P51 page (I know) ..."and at least one New Zealand pilot scored victories over Europe while on loan to a USAAF P-51 squadron".
any ideas who he is? More importantly is there any info on his Mustang was it B/C or a D. Serial codes, camouflage, personal markings.
This would give the perfect excuse to get the new Airfix P-51.
Or is this a wild goose chase?
Thanks

Thanks for all the replies Guys. It's possible I'll be able to cobble the serial numbers from multiple decals. The Hurricane is next to be built, after 1.move house (next week) 2.complete corsair kit 3.Study for exam on Friday 4.Professional practice power point after exam. 5.2500 word essay due end of next week Not necessarily in that order

Hi Guys. While looking up something on google for an essay I'm writing I found a piece from a UK newspaper. by all accounts Ridley Scott is to direct a movie about the Battle of Britain, It is a project he's wanted to do for a long time. I'd suggest given the treatment Christopher Nolan gave to Dunkirk, Ridleys take on the BoB should be rather good. He is a bit of a stickler for accuracy so I'm guessing it won't be anywhere near as bad as Pearl Harbour. I can just see a xenomorph in flying googles an a white scarf. Now Sir Peter where's the Dambusters??

Got my copy yesterday. Adam was in my local bookstore so I was able to get him to inscribe and sign it. While I've been busy with a sociology essay, I did take time to have a quick flick through and I'm looking forward to sitting down soon and having a cover to cover read.

Hi Guys.
I've recently picked up the Airfix (new mold) Mk1 Hurricane and Mk1 Spitfire. As I tend to build where ever possible aircraft either flown by Kiwis or RNZAF aircraft. with that in mind I'd like to do one of the Hurricanes flown by NZ Ace Cobber Kain.
I'm hoping you guys can help with pictures or serial/codes for his aircraft. One other thing to maybe make this a little more challenging I'd prefer it the aircraft had the black white undersides.
Many thanks in advance.
Oh currently a corsair is in the paint workshop
regards
Chris
