On my visit to Ardmore today the Strikemaster now has the new engine installed, though a fair bit of work yet to go to link it all up with the systems I think.

I would have liked to stick around to see the engine run but it didn't look on the cards when we left. The guys are doing a stunning job on this rare aircraft. The work was at fever pitch today to try to sort the gremlins. Fingers crossed for a successful flirst flight.

I can remember back during the leadup (over a couple of years) to the earlier Classic Fighters when Allan Udy was sending out regular email newsletters and he used to ask for suggestions for things people would like to see at upcoming Classic Fighters airshows, but he always used to add on the end not to ask for the impossible, such as a “Butcher Bird”. Well....it would appear that the impossible is about to become reality! ;D

gidday! we are here! leaving the Wairarapa for a road trip to Taupo; golf weekend really Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden! I have seen the Omani marked Provost overhead; sounded a little rough with the throttle backed off, maybe thats the way it is meant to be. We are taking the ferry on monday and having a day or so with my best mans son in Picton and on to omaka.

Two reasons that Classic Fighters isn't this weekend: Its forecast to be wet. And I have a cold and managed to cough my way into a sore neck as well!! Awesome photo Gavin, fingers crossed! This time next week we will be looking forward to the twilight show and discussing the flying practice!

Bugger those temps for a joke .... brrrrr, some of those highs are less than half the temp here at 5pm last night! Less than an hour now until I catch a taxi from the office to the airport to head back over. I've now been here for exactly 2yrs and 1 day. Have good memories of my last 3 days in Blenheim at CF09 now to celebrate with a return visit 2yrs later to CF11.
