The shorter fuselage on the "C" is quite noticeable when you are used to looking at the "N" .... thanks again for the pics guys!

Simon arriving low and fast at Omaka today. Our good friend Doug arrived at Omaka today, great to see him and his beautiful Spitfire. FW-190 during a high power run, sounded awesome and the ground was shaking, check the video link below. Kittyhawk ZK-CAG, six Harvards, the 108 and a few other arrived today as well, was a hive of activity.

Excellent stuff, what a great time to be at Omaka! Pleased keep us posted Gavin, I'm sure I speak for all members unable to attend when I say a thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your updates. Three P-40 formation? Not too exciting for most but from the lounge this arvo I watched the New Plymouth half of the Yak team practice. Tight as always

Desperate for tips on acting like a WW2 SGT and SQNLDR (not at the same time) This is relevant as Ghost Sqn are part of a static display with a Hurricane on the Saturday.

Sadly the Pitts Model 12 will not be able to attend due to technical issues that despite best attempts are not able to be resolved.
Hopefully, however NUT will prove to be a suitable substitute.

Forecast I saw was sunny Friday, showers Saturday afternoon and all night and rain on Sunday, clearing in the afternoon. Can anyone confirm that there is no charge for parking?

Very cool photo Colin! All that's missing is some uniformed personnel milling around!
As the show creeps ever closer, and we get the sad report that the Pitts Model 12 as well as the Mosquito cannot attend, has there been any word from the Reids in Nelson as to the availability of the Anson? Also I've seen mention that the Frew Yak would be joined by Arthur Dovey's machine - has this arrived, or would it be more likely to appear tomorrow?
Finally, seasoned "spotters" would already know this, but please keep an eye out for white trucks with canvas sides going to Omaka - especially if they have "Weta" in small print on the door. Hopefully some of the Hood string bags will be in appearance.

Zac, Arthur Dovey and his Yak cannot attend the airshow. And it was mentoned some pages back that the Anson won't be there either.
What is AMZ??

The excitement and butterflies in the stomach are really mounting for me now. In a matter of four hours time I will be picked up by Kerry (fockewulf) and with him and Nick (Spitfire9) and Jim (who reads the forum also) we'll be headed south through the night to make it to tomorrow morning's ferry. We should arrive at Omaka by mid-to-late morning I think.
I'm so looking forward to this. Omaka Classic Fighters has established itself as my all time favourite airshow. It has pipped Wanaka for that. Great aircraft, great flying, great scenery, great for filming and photography, great hospitality, great friendly environment, great people.
I hope this year exceeds the experiences of the past two shows I attended, although it would be a hard ask to top them both.
Let's not forget that as well as the fancy new items on the bill like the FW190, the Spitfire Pair, the P-40C Tomahawk, the new Yak 3, etc, there are also the wonderful stalwarts of the airshow scene too. Two Dakotas are always great to see together. The Mustang. The P-40N and I hope the P-40C. The Yaks! And I'm told 12 Harvards and around 15 WWI types on show!! And the Bristol Freighter too.
This is going to be awesome. No let's all start doing a sun-dance to blow that predicted rain away.
