Is there anyone who is flying or driving from Auckland to the Omaka airshow who has a spare seat for a very keen young member of the forum, Ryan Daum (Stingray)? His boss gave him leave very late and though he can now go to the airshow he's really disappointed that most of the options are taken and he may not be able to get there. If someone can give Ryan a lift by air or car he'd be thrilled. He has accommodation sorted, and also has a probable ride home too. He just needs to get there.
I know it's late in the day but he's a great enthusiast, a valued member of this forum and a really knowledgable and experienced aviator (he's 18 and began flying when he was about 11 from memory). He'd be great company on the trip. It would be awesome if someone can help him out. If you can, text me on 021 122 1918 and I will pass on your details to him asap.

Looks like there's now a good chance of me going as Jodi is recovering well and keen for me to go. Look out for the bloke with the logo in the signature on a t-shirt. That way you know who I am and can say g'day or avoid me.

The Tomahawk is seen here following another successful test flight at Ardmore today. All going well it will wing its way to Omaka tomorrow, this is a beautiful aircraft and you will be amazed at how good it looks. Trusty old Nanchang alongside todays Air 2 Air subject at Ardmore near Auckland. Might be a while before photos from the flight are shown here but the Tomahawk is an amazing aircraft. Warren and his team are miracle workers. Was great to see the Strikemaster up and about, well done guys.

The forecast looks promising, as the old Meatloaf song goes "Two outta three ain't bad"... www.metservice.com/towns-cities/blenheimwaiting for Baz and Teresa to come back from dropping off the pets and a few other chores and then we'll be cruising up. Looking forward to a great weekend in Blenheim and at Omaka and meeting other forum members who are going. Cheers and beers!!

Dont think we are gonna get the clear blue skies of the previous shows , but the forcast isnt for really bad weather either , just showers on saturday ( but these will often bypass Blenheim , so no need to worry just yet ). Lots of sounds of warbird pilots " getting their eye in " over Omaka today ! Roll on tomorrow !

Snag hits test flight Wheel fails to appear for landing DEREK FLYNN/Marlborough Express DANGER AVERTED: The Focke Wulf Fw190 lands safely at Omaka airfield yesterday after a malfunction with the landing gear during its first flight. Organisers hope the plane will be ready for displays during the Classic Fighter airshow starting tomorrow. The Focke Wulf Fw190 due to fly in the Classic Fighters Airshow at Omaka this weekend had a problem with its undercarriage on its first flight yesterday. Experienced Auckland pilot Frank Parker took the plane up for its first flight since it was reassembled by the Jem Aviation team at Omaka Airfield, on the outskirts of Blenheim. After a 40-minute test flight, Mr Parker found one of the wheels would not come down for landing. Jay McIntyre, of Jem Aviation, said Mr Parker was able to recycle the circuit breaker and get the wheel to come down after circling the airfield for about 15 minutes. The plane landed safely and Mr McIntyre said engineers were looking into the problem and were hoping to fix it by tomorrow, when the plane is due for another test flight. www.stuff.co.nz/marlborough-express/4914966/Snag-hits-test-flight/

Im thinking #CF11 will work well, if people want to search for tweet updates that way. All the gorgeous radial sounds from the sky in the last few days are warming the cockles of me heart, which is good cause its about the only thing warming me. Looking forward to seeing everyone from tomorrow morning onwards.
