What's the latest with the Mossie and Classic Fighters? Definite no show? Definite no to the Mossie and fingers crossed for FW190(its in the country and due at Omaka Friday) and P40C Tomahawk. As Dave said there are going to be some busy aircraft engineers the next few weeks!

Dear God, can you please postpone Easter by six to eight months? Love, Dave.
Jasper, Classic Fighters is the name of the Omaka airshow. It always has been.

All this talk is making me almost nervous with excitement and anticipation, but can someone please please please remind me to check I've packed my Gold Pass before I leave ... I have this nagging fear that Im gonna arrive back in NZ in 14 days time and find the pass is still sitting here in Brisbane.

I have the same fear, by tradition i usually wear it on the flight home so as even if the airline lose my bag, i still have all that is important Myself and my Dad are flying back on the tuesday before show weekend and then driving north with my sister for what will be aviation heaven i have no doubt, so excited about so many different aspects of this years lineup

Fingers crossed for the Anson too! Sorry, but it appears that the Anson will not be ready in time for the show as well.

That is very, very disappointing news Joe.
And having seen the Mosquito last Sunday, it would take an act of God to get her ready, I'm afraid!
Not that this matters to me personally at this point sadly, as there is no way in heck I can get time off to go, and no way we could afford it!

Oh, I thought he meant a group of planes, like WW1 era machines.

The Classic Fighters website is being updated on a regular basis so if you have not been to the show and want to know more have a look at the link below: www.classicfighters.co.nz/The heart rate rises as we wait for the FW190, only three sleeps to go and it will be at Omaka, the team have a great plan and will do their best to get the aircraft flying, exciting times.

Seriously the only thing Im hopeing for at the moment is good weather ! Okay , so the Mossie is a shame , Anson -was also a stretch , so not really a huge dissapointment that it wont be done . Fingers still very much crossed on the FW190 ( but rain hail or shine , flying or not , it will be there - )so hopeing for the best .

It's a shame about the Anson. I'm quite disappointed, but at the same time understand that these things happen. I recall there was some talk that it was going to be flying for the 2009 show so it shows how long the 'final stages' of the restoration has been. But we'll see it when we see it. At least it is a New Zealand based aircraft and will (hopefully) be around for many airshows to come after it takes to the air.

Bugger and damnation. Ah well, looks like I'm going to Wanaka next year. ;-)
I really should know better but when there's a chance to see a Mossie and Anson, one has to make the commitment. Still very much looking forward to the trip and seeing some of these great Kiwi aircraft in the flesh at last.
