I have just had a thought, this will be the first time in many years that I have been away from home on ANZAC Day. I'm sure it will be the case for many others. Could someone from Blenheim please find out the details of the ANZAC Service in Blenheim and post them here, time, place, etc? Will there be any sort of service at Omaka or just in town?
Also, will there be a warbird flyast of the service?

Hopefully Jessica will have more info after her visit?

I guess it will be in the paper in the coming weeks , but from memory there is usually a service in front of the memorial clock tower ( thats just around the corner from where you are staying , Baz ) . Think its normally at 10 ( but I,ll keep an eye out ) . Usually there is a fly past , but its often only a Nanchang or two ( as thats normally all that is here ) . This year may be different though ! ;D Really dont know if anythings planned for Omaka , I would imagine they would do something , but they wont want to" tread on any toes " from the traditional comemoratiom either , I imagine .

ANZAC Day in Blenheim will be the same as usual, we have a dawn parade In Seddon at 0600 followed by the main parade in Blenheim starting at 11.00am
In terms of flypasts etc I am sure their will be a flypast or two but hard to say what by as some aircraft will make flypasts in the their home towns so it is hard to say whether those timings will fit with the Blenheim parade.

It'd be great if they use a camel or something for ANZAC day flypast-it would be slightly more appropriate.

Thanks Gavin. After checking with my mate who has booked our ferry tickets for the drive home, we're leaving on the Sunday nigth anyway, so we'll probably get back to Cambridge just in time for Dawn Parade, which I'm sure I will miss as I will be very sleepy, which is sad as Dawn Parade is very special and important to me.
But thanks for adding the info as I'm sure it's helpful to others here too.

Now you lot in Blenheim(or visiting) stay away and let Jay and the boys get that beautiful FW190 put together and in the air. Failure to comply will result in a severe and I mean severe finger waggling! (I said FINGER!!) Go JEM Aviation!! ;D

If you do show up you will be dealt to by pecker head, and here he is dealing to the last person who got to close. All jokes aside though, the team do need to get on with the job so would appreciate the space to do so. Some long days will be put into this aeroplane so every minute is vital to the team at JEM. Their is a lot to do and a very determined group are doing the best they can to get the aircraft flying for Classic Fighters. Will be great to see an FW190 at Classic Fighters and should it not fly in time it will not be due to lack of trying. Getting up close to an aircraft like this is like a dream come true and we can all do that at the show, but not now.

Thanks for the photos Gavin. Even like that it still looks like pure evil. I cannot wait to see the dastardly Focke Wulf replica..

Looks great, fantastic photo Gavin. Oh, just to enable smooth relations between the crew at JEM Aviation and the (I believe) two German engineers who have come or are coming out to advise regarding the Focke Wulf's reassembly etc.... 'Whatever you do, don't mention the war'!! ;-)

The guys at JEM are working so hard to get these aircraft ready for the show. We wish them well a round or two will be on the bar no matter what the outcome is. It is not often one gets a view like this in a hangar in New Zealand. Cheers Gavin
