The Yak is fully painted but has been covered up until the airshow. The guys are doing a great job and you will be impressed by the striking colour scheme. It is progressing well but it will be very tight by the looks of it, in saying that I am not the best judge in terms of restoration progress but it is looking great.
Plenty of long hours going in at Omaka right now thats for sure, and I am sure you will all join me in wishing the team at JEM all the best.

I already did wish the JEM crew the best of luck a few pages back, but I'll say it again. Will Arthur Dovey have his Yak 3 at the show too? The sight of two together would be a first for a NZ show wouldn't it? It would be awesome seeing them with the FW190 in the air.

It has been an awesome week, and I haven't even been flying. Watching this FW-190 come out of the container and seeing it now being assembled is quite amazing, almost unbelieveable especially as it is only five minutes down the road. I don't seem to miss the La-9 so much anymore This shot was taken today at Beer O Clock Beer? There's no time for beer or standing around!! Just kidding! Good on ya team, make us proud! :-)

By the way, didi anyone hear the radio interview with Graham Orphan on Friday? He revealed there wll be a full-size replica of a German WW2 V2 rocket, complete with "tracks" and tug at the show. And 'operational'!! And under attack by Allied fighters :-)

As there is clearly a couple of guys working under the FW190 unader the centre section, it must just be the onlookers who cracked a beer while they watched the work going on. ;D

A message just through from Graham Orphan regarding the V-2 rocket is interesting. He says he had some concerns about the V-2 project as it is the most ambitious prop they've ever worked on. This is the team that previously built a Horsa, a Stuka, the Eiffel Tower and much more in the way of props!!
He says, "The bottom line is, this thing is AMAZING. If all goes to plan, visitors will be left with their jaws on the floor. The engineering behind the trailer is the key to it, and this has been really well done. I would have sworn this was a genuine Meillerwaggon. The rocket itself is very impressive too - and HUGE. I can guarantee all visitors will be greatly impressed, especially if everything works as per the plan, but an important message will be WHATEVER YOU DO, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MISS THE SUNDAY SHOW!"

Yes, as mentioned previously in this thread the forum members always meet up at the Marlborough Aero Club clubrooms bar right after each day's flying, on all three days. They have cheap beers and a great bbq there which is always worth it after a long day in the sun watchng planes.

Jasper you'll be fine at the clubrooms so long as you don't start swigging pints. Quite a few families tend to rock up there.
Great shot there Gavin, the Triplane looks tiny next to the Flug Werke 190.
