That is not a programme though, it simply says when the gates open and when the show starts and finishes. We want to see detail of what is going to be there.
You'll recall the last airshow they didn't put up a programme either and left many people wondering if it was worth going. In the event I went along and found the flying programme and the displays to be excellent, however the show was marred for me but the idiotic idea of placing the vendors tents all the way along the flightline so you couldn'd see any of the ground and low down action. I hope to goodness they have learned the lesson from the post-show criticism on that one as it was absolutely crazy. Otherwise it would have been a top notch airshow.
It is likely I am unable to attend this airshow sadly as I have something else come up that weekend. I hope Dave can swing the Hunter over Cambridge for a few minutes while waiting for his display. ;D

I hope he gets it flying again in time for the show. I work in Tauranga overlooking Tauranga airport/circuit pattern, and I haven't seen it, and certainly haven't heard it yet (since 2007 of course). Seen plenty of the Strikemaster though

I visited the Classic Flyers Museum yesterday, and the Hunter is being prepared for flight again - lots of work being done on it. hopefully it will all come together OK. the Christmas - new year period is a pig of a time to get anything done as all the various vendors are closed! And jpshultze, it will be possible to fly in (the SAA "SportAvex" convention is being held at the same time). There will be restricted arrival times and visiting aircraft will probably be parked on the far side of the airfield, but it will be possible.

Excellent news worth going just for that! Might have to find somewhere to stay and attend two days?
Cheers

Awesome, it will be great to have the Hunter back in our skies, the list of airworthy vintage jets in NZ is getting to be quite impressive!

I am currently planning on flying down from Ardmore. There might be one seat free, a small contribution towards fuel might be needed.

I have yet to attend a Tauranga show, and I am very hesitant to make plans to go without knowing what aircraft may appear.

I dont think any airshow organiser could make statements about exactly which aircraft will appear even right up to the start of the show, and in some ways expecting specific detail is unreasonable. I'm not involved with the organisation this year, but from what I have heard it will definitely be worth coming. It is a BIG, proper airshow so there will be plenty to make the trip worthwhile, even without specifics. Not least of all the homebuilt aircraft that will be there (probably even a Fletcher too! ) I hope to have CKE there if I get checked out in it in time.

Looks like a good line up. They even have a "Chopper" and a "Trike" lined up, must be motorcycles I guess? It's a pity I won't be able to go. Doh.

Was expecting something slightly more spectacular...its pretty much the same programme as the past few airshows, its a day out with a big emphasis on trade displays, hopefully there not infront of the flightline again.

The DC-3 is going from Ardmore on both Saturday and Sunday. $175 for the flight and have $20 cash for the airshow entry.($30 on the Sunday for attendees, but DC-3 pax is just $20.) Depart from NZ Warbird HQ each morning 0730 (due to pilots briefings at TGA at 0830.) Return at end of airshow. There MAY be a few seats for pax to go down on Saturday and back on Sunday - but that will be a last minute decision. My non-aviation mate overlooking the field said that there was an "unusual largish fighter jet" in the circuit at Tauranga yesterday. Is the Hunter flying again? Pete
