Sad news. Ray Hirst, a Cambridge airman, has died. Some of you may have met Ray at the 2011 Forum Meet. A really lovely gentleman. HIRST, Raymond Thomas. (RNZAF 435404) On September 22, 2013 at Resthaven. Aged 91 years. Dearly loved father and father in law of Peter and Dorothy, David and Emma, Terri, Howard and the late Helen, Raewyn and Chris. Also very sad indeed, Wing Commander Ron Potter has died too. He served in WWII flying Special Ops in Dakotas with the famous No. 267 (Pegasus) Squadron and was good mates with George Culliford. He served right through for decades in the RNZAF, being involved in the purchase of the Skyhawks. Another great chap. I'll miss his emails.

All communications to "The Kerr Family" P O Box 305, Whangaparaoa, Auckland 0943 I've no record of this man serving in the RNZAF during WWII or even during 1946-1948. If his age is correctly quoted, he would have been only about 17 in 1945 and certainly could not have been a flight sergeant by that date. Errol
