Very sad to see the death of W/O Blue Molloy. I remember him working alongside us in No. 6 Hangar at Wigram when he was W/O i/c NATTS, and he was a good guy, along with his deputy, F/Sgt Blue Freeman. Blue Molloy always seemed larger than life with his tall stature and big bushy moustache. When NATTS was closed down I heard he got out of the RNZAF and became a prison warder.

Yes, Blue was a great guy. I took over at NATTS from him in 1984, and he came back to NATTS about 1990. He was also a highly regarded instructor at 2TTS. Australian trained, he was great to work with. The two "Blues" would have been a dynamite pair. And yes, Blue Molloy did go on to work in the Prison Service. We caught up several times after I retired - always some stories.

Sad to read of the passing of Blue Mclloy (my son's name for him). Many happy memories of our time together at NATTS in the early 80s and subsequently sorting out F27 issues together after I moved over to the REO Harewood office.
