I took about 2,500 photos over the weekend, but I haven't even started looking through them yet due to being out socialising with friends every night following the airshow, then up early the following morning. Although I'm still in Wanaka, a group of us headed over to Jackson Bay today to indulge in a fabulous seafood lunch at The Craypot, so I still haven't had a chance to even start on my photos (we only got back to Wanaka an hour ago). Besides, I'm having an issue with Photobucket at the moment (it may be the WiFi system at the place I'm staying at in Wanaka). I'm off home tomorrow, but I'm going to be rather tied up for the rest of the week, so it may be next week before I get a chance to start sorting through my photos from Warbirds over Wanaka.

Wow, those arestunning shots Jason!! I love your photography, it's awesome. That's the best shot I have ever seen of Kiwi Blue! And I love both the Harvard NZ1078 shots too.

I love your photos too 11sqnldr. The one of the Corsair and two Spitfires is brilliant. And the various formations are so neat to see. Three dung droppers dropping dung togetehr, Zac will flip when he sees that.
Gavin, that shot of the Strikemaster is simply superb. I have grown to love that striking colour scheme. It's very photogenic. Nice to see Andrew in the port seat!

Just back from the show, very uneventful from our persective (that means good) All our aircraft and the guns went well no dramas. Couple of small coments. Great show made even better by the lack of wind and accompanying dust. No oversea aircraft, look around we didn't need them. Dean Beverley flying the Blunty not Andrew.

What stunning pics everyone, and Jase! I've loved hearing you on the radio for the last few years, and now to see that you're such a talented photographer is wicked. Well done! I'll be saving most of those as screensavers.
It looks like an awesome show, well done to Mandy and the team :-)

What a great weekend, and what a beautiful part of the world! Back home and a gazillion photos to go through ... here is a quickie however - Liz Needham gave us a couple of up-close blasts with the Browning .50 cals in front of the Gold Pass stand - nearly fell over when she fired the first one ... Was very pleased with myself to catch the muzzle flash! She also fired them off (both days) in one of the airfield attack sequences, leading in the Corsair and the other P-40. To be continued ...

Well where to begin... what a fantastic weekend it was. The highlight for me was Dave Phillips (both of his displays - in the Tiger Moth and Hunter). The Hunter display on Friday was just amazing - he was a little more conservative on Saturday and Sunday! Brett's display in the Vampire on Sunday was also superb.
As others have noted the Hurricane looked very lonely parked miles away from the other WWII fighters. The dust was terrible. Using a stubble paddock with no grass as the main car park isn't a smart move. They need to get some grass sown and irrigation going well before the show. I know a few of the aircraft owners weren't too happy about the dust either - not good for expensive engines.
Well done to all involved.

Does anyone recall the days before the forum, we had to wait a month till New Zealand Wings came out, and often two months for Classic Wings, just to see some piccies. It's so great that we can see loads of photos from a range of angles and photographers within days and hours of any flying event. Great stuff!

Re: Reply #181 with the ag formation pic, which Yeoman Cropmaster is that? Ashburton museum's?? I guess so. It left the museum a few months back. With a new engine.
