Had a great few days working with the "Ghost" We flew together several times and it was awesome to work with my hero again Cheers Gavin I ran into Phil Makanna standing in the queue to board the flight back to Wellington on the Tuesday. He told me he was heading for a four-day shoot in Wairarapa skies, gathering images for his 2013 Ghosts calendar. He's an interesting character to talk to. Last Warbirds over Wanaka (2010) he was also on the same flight as me heading home, sitting directly across the aisle from me. Amzingly, he remembered chatting to me in 2010.

I've only just started making a dent in sorting through my WOW photos.
I downsized those three to post at an Oz newsgroup where they were talking about Hurricanes, so I decided to post them in here as well.
I'll stick more of my WOW photos into here over the next few weeks as I gradually sort through them (while working long hours at the same time).

Some nice early morning pictures of the Hurricane, KTJ.Have they refurbished the Alpine hangar? Looks like new tin on the outside.

What's the story on the Hurricane? Is it still on the market?

What's the story on the Hurricane? Is it still on the market? Sounds like a Bob Dylan song....

I was walking off the aerodrome on the Sunday about an hour or so after the airshow finished and felt sorry for the Hurricane sitting there all by itself, so got the camera out and took a few photographs.

Long time reader here, just wanted to say- great photos posted by all. Here are only a couple of the hundreds I took. My first airshow ever, so I picked up a lot over the 3 days of attendance, however still a long way to go. Any advice is appreciated. Hope I've uploaded these right.. Nice shots Hamish, though a bit big. It always amazes me how the Orions look so many different shades from dark grey through to very light greay as seen here in different photos.

Great shots airsidenz. I LOVE the prop circles!! I always have trouble finding the right balance with my shutter speeds and aperture settings to keep the object focused sharp yet not lose any of the prop action. Seems to me you've got that nailed!!

Excellent view, Gavin. Spot the Black Bird - all eyes skyward as the Triple Seven shadow rolls along the centreline. OF
