If they are doing a WWII Eastern Front scene I wonder if the FW190 from Omaka will be there. Also maybe the hurricane flying in it because that flew on Eastern Front as well.

I'd rather they bought these to Ohakea, at least the punters could get up close & view them on the ground... But a flyby at Wanaka would of course be fantastic as well what's the chances of the Anson making an appearance? about nil if it has not undergine test flying by now? I'm still holding out for an announcement of something nice and as yet unseen as a major drawcard for this airshow.

"The RNZAF in Europe in WWII – Spitfires and one other yet to be announced." Hmm, Hurricane? Anson? According to today's Otago Daily Times, (Sat 04 Feb), the Avro Anson is a confirmed starter

So...hands up who's keeping count of top-shelf items?
P-51 P-51 P-40 P-40 Spitfire Spitfire Yak 3 Yak 3? F-4U FW 190 TBM Anson Hurricane?
Would that be a record? (apologies, and no disrespect intended, to all support acts that I also appreciate, relish, fixate on!!!!!!)
I just LOVE airshows - gimme gimme gimme!

Yeah well, I stand by my view of ANY aircraft that participates, but MAN are you pushing it... (spoken by a man who DOESN"T own an aeroplane larger than 1:32 and that looks like a meccano set!)

I think that Stan Smith's Army Auster is pretty cool.

I've just been and had a look at the new Wanaka museum today. I'll do a review and provide photos when I get home next week, but while there I noticed the Huricane still looks very much grounded (the engine is still inhibited), so I asked the girl at the front desk and she confirmed it definately hasn't flown recently... but it is hoped it will be back in the air for WOW!
