Having USAF Raptors here for the show is amazing,. (I'm assuming they are USAF?). . Nobody else is permitted to buy and use them Dave, so it ain't a selling mission as well. But yes, a great coup to get them here. Take it they will bring a C17, even if they have aspare here at CHCH that will go up for the day. What about our other pacific neighbours, apart from fiji.

I see that the RNZAF's website now lists the display line up for this show, as: RNZAF aircraft displays Red Checkers Historic Flight Tiger Moth, Harvard and Sioux C -130 Hercules Boeing 757 P3K Orion UH1H Iroquois A109 LUH SH2G Seasprite B200 King Air Kiwi Blue Parachute Team Civilian aircraft displays Dakota Catalina Auster Devon Kittyhawk Spitfire What? No Mustang, Vampire, NH90 and all those fantasy planes form overseas then? Based on history, I tend to take anything on that website with a grain of salt. YMMV Interestingly in the light of todays rumour/revelation, I was pondering the above listing recently and ruminating on the fact that it was only RNZAF assets and definite civilians listed, i.e. those they could count on as being in the bank. Allied participation I was and am quietly optimistic about Here's hoping ;D If this turns out to be true, I might have to take a few days off and find a bit of OH fence to look through...

In the Air Force news it says F-22 Raptors are coming! That's great news! Can someone please post exactly what is said in the Air Force News? Seems an odd way to announce it. Note that the F-22s at Avalon didn't display, as a display pilot was not available. The aircraft were from an Alaska-based squadron, deployed to Japan.

No Tiger Moths? And no WWI stuff from across the hill? I'm surprised by that. Of course this is probably not the final list.

OK Luke, I have my copy of Air Force News. Can you please tell me which page states F-22 Raptors re attending the airshow?
I see an article about PACAF, the US Pacific Air Force. It states that PACAF will have a presence at the airshow (I know they are bringing a C-17) but other than the photo of four Raptors and the article stating PACAF has Raptors, i don't see any reference to Raptors actually attending the airshow. Am I missing something here? Or are you reading somehting that isn't there?

Amazing what you can do with only 145HP. Not sure it's the most respectful way to treat an old lady though... But it's sure impressive

Nice so the Raptor is up there along with the Stealth bomber seen at Wanaka airshow for a couple of years.
