OK, looks like I did read the article wrong. Hmmm, well this misinformation is dissappointing. I had told a few people about the news you posted, now I will have to go an untell them.

I read the "aircraft deployed" and got excited. It was slightly confusing having Raptors in the main photo, and then mentioning the airshow. Again, sorry.

If you squint your eyes enough you can make a F-18 look like a F-22

Bugger and I was in process of cooking up a watertight ironclad excuse why I would be skipping a 6 hour compulsory seminar on the day of the airshow.

Would be awesome if the Singaporeans would bring some F-16's and F-15SG's over with their Herc.
Weren't they going to base some type of jet or jet training squadron in NZ at some stage? What has come of that?

Yeah there was talk of a Squadron of trainer jets being based at Ohakea (and other rumours of a squadron F-16s), but it all went quiet a while ago...

This looks at be a fantastic airshow and I hope the weather is good for everyone. I will not be going as we are going to the USA for a month in October and will be seeing to Blue Angels in San Francisco...so that should be really cool. Plus we are going to Rachel in Nevada...home of Area 51...now a tourist attraction...makes you laugh really.

I would love to see the RAAF and USAF pop something in the back of their C17's for us to see...ie: Blackhawk, Tiger or Apache?
The RAF should cough up with some good toys, we always send stuff over to their air shows...not to mention how many RNZAF crews flew in RAF squadrons.

Have we sent anything other than a B757 in the past several years, as part of a visit to the UK in the normal course of events? What does the RAF have that is a realistic possibility? C-17, Tristar, VC-10? Herc maybe.

Thanks for pointing out the update Dave. Good to see the Wedgetail added to the list (and various other things as well e.g. Anson, TVAL) I wonder if the Aussies will borrow the KC-130 to help the F-18s get home?

Considering the USAF C-17 is probably only coming from Christchurch... not many Apaches down there.
