Great to see that the ball is rolling Dave. Well done.
When I was working in Beijing my school did podcasts for a year and I think the audio editing software that we used was Audacity.

Looking forward to learning about the mysterious Mr Brankin. Well done, Dave.
Stephen Harris has a new edition of Under A Bomber's Moon coming out (if it's not out already). Would he be a good chap to chat to for The WONZ Show?

Have you uploaded the show yet, Dave? www.soundcloud.com is a good site to use if your still stuck. You get 120 minutes free, but after that you have to pay. You could rotate the shows that are uploaded if you don't want to pay.

I'm afraid I am still having issues with the technical side and have not yet had time to work it all out. I have recorded two shows, Craig and Don Simms, both are in my opinion great guests and I'm really keen to get it all sorted soon. Neither show is a particularly topical-this-week topic so they won't go stale on the shelf, so really I just have to ask you all to be patient. Don's show is great, lots of info on Skyhawks, the Avionics squadron at Ohakea and his book.
120 minutes will last only the first episode... I need a better way... Don's is two hours!

I would get broadband if I could afford it, and one of the plans for this show is to get a sponsor onboard and from that sponsorship I would get a broadband package to make the show much easier to produce. But it's not goign to happen by the looks of it, there have been no offers of sponsorship so far. I have had one donation from a very good member here to help towards the costs of setting up the show, but that is all.
I think i need to get some shows up before anyone will consider the oportunities there as a sponsor, but I need to get the shows up online first. It's a catch 22 really.

How about 'borrowing' another forum members internet connection to upload it all to Soundcloud? Some, I bet, are on unlimited broadband or on a high usage plan. How big is the file? I don't know what's going on tomorrrow but I could always swing by my place with you tomorrow (if you come to the airshow) and upload it to Soundcloud. I'm only down the road from Ardmore...

The major issue is the file type I have is way too big, I am working on perfecting that before even considering uploading it. And am not going to Ardmore tomorrow now, sadly. Thanks fr the offer though.
All I ask is everyone be patient till I get the technicalities sorted and then we'll be going rip shit and bust, as my Dad used to say.

What is the format you are recording it in? MP3 is ideal because the file sizes are relatively small. Secondly don't upload it as a single file, break it down into manageable parts, that is less than 100MB files. However 120 minutes of MP3 will be a lot less than that. I have a number of sites where you could upload the files too that don't cost you anything, but may cost people about €6 a month if they want to download more than 1 file simultaneously. All you do is upload the file to the hosting site and then copy the file location and post the link on this forum. Ok 120 minutes maybe a bit long so you might have to edit it. I use 2 programs from AVS which costs about $70.00 for the licence and lets you have unlimited audio and video editing capability across a platform of programs. Or if you look around you can get basic free or open source audio editing programs. You most definitely need broadband. Actually you could upload the audio to Youtube and post link here. Cost you nothing. Just remember to put a nice picture with it

I'd be happy to upload them once you have the final edit. I also have a plethera of conversion software so can convert/compress from/to most formats. I'm in Cambridge (Karapiro) fairly regularly so I could pick them up also. PM me if interested.

Hi Mike, thanks for that offer, I may well be in touch about that mate. In the meantime.... www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZ_Show.htmlAt last, the show page is up online, and the very first show is uploaded. It's a big long rambling show to introduce things to people and thankfully with a great guest, Craig Brankin. The second show is much more concise and detailed and a lot less of me thankfully. Don was a great guest too. That show will be up soonish, I'll let you all know. Note there are several other planned shows coming soon too on the page. Any feedback or ideas are welcome.

Hehe, that is actually four engines in close formation, strapped to a B-17. ;D Just a little noise as I still have not settled on a show theme tune. If anyone has recomendations for a theme tune let me know...
