I think I saw the second D.VIII sitting in the OS&R Co. hangar. It was not on the flightline. Perhaps TVAL thought that having two debutantes at this show was enough? The D.VIII that flew made a skillful emergency landing, with a stationary rotary. And speaking of the OS&R Co. hangar, how do you squeeze in your Fokker D.VII, RE.8, 2 x Albatross D.Va, 2 x BE.2 , FE.2, 2 x Bristol Fighter, Fokker D.VIII, Fokker Dr1 and SE.5a and still leave enough room for the Corsair and P-40? Cheers, Brett

Great photos Brett, what a great show by the looks of it.
So The Vintage Aviator Ltd has now built (at least) three Albatross's then? Wonderful to see that there's another flying, and great to see the RE.8 and both Bristol Fighters together.

Can you begin to comprehend the significance of what TVAL has accomplished? Un-bloody-believable! I missed this one (by one day, flew in to WN this morning for work) but caught the last one (in the rain) - I just hope that the investment of time, sweat, and dollars by all involved is being well supported by crowd numbers. These guys deserve a return on such investment and a huge round of applause! GOOD ON Y'ALL :-) Right, wheres the car keys I'm off to see Dad in Masterton...

At the rate TVA are going, they could almost do a WW1 flying movie, without GGI! As Johhnyfalcon says - a remarkable achievement about which it can get easy to become a bit blase'. Brilliant work and effort people.

Having just visited the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre for the first time, and seeing the amazing collection of Richthofen artefacts, my mind was wandering along similar tracks ... Sir Peter must be getting close to either owning or having access to a full set of supporting aircraft??!

Something I've wondered about for a long time ... does Stu Goldspink come out to NZ every time the OS&R P-40 needs to be displayed??? Seems a long, expensive way for a pilot to come, and I see pics of him displaying in the UK in between NZ shows. Must be a busy, in-demand guy! Or does he have some NZ connection anyway?
