Great photos Peter. I particularly like the Corsair. I just wish it would appear in RNZAF colours and markings.

fwx, I have heard it said by a few airshow commentators that Stuart does come out to NZ from the UK for each display. That is great dedication. We are so lucky as an audience to see him display the aeroplane so skillfully.

Stuart is part owner of the P-40 and also learnt to fly in NZ, great guy also.
Love the third triplane shot with the pilots goggles flipped up over his head.....hahaha

Yes, strange admission for someone my age (!) but these guys are my heroes ... we owe so much to them for making these displays possible. Another impressive aspect to the TVAL collection, that they can put up so many aircraft at once, with enough pilots available to entrust these rare and beautiful machines to.
Thanks DragonflyDH90, that explains ...

I have to admit too that the warbirds pilots have always been my heroes too since I was a kid and saw them in action for the first time. Nowadays I get the great opportunity to meet many of them and I am never disappointed, and many of them I now consider friends, but they remain heroes to me. Lots of them are readers of the forum too which is so nice.

I should add that now that I am much more savvy, the owners, restorers, maintainers and airshow organisers and all those who go into keeping them flying are also heroes in my eyes too.

There is a brief article in Monday's Wairarapa Times-Age about Saturday's airshow.
There is an accompanying photograph of a British film-maker (immediately prior to him taking a ride in the Fe2b, complete with a movie camera on his helmet) who has been shooting a lot of footage of TVAL's collection (with a film crew) for a documentary called "Engineering Victory on WWI Aviation" to be shown on British television Channel Five in March. Unfortunately, the article only appears in the print edition of the Times-Age and isn't on their website.

Another great show indeed! I'm starting to prefer these small TVAL ones than the Huge Wings & Warbirds shows. Weather was fantastic and was great to see the RE.8 and D.VIII! I missed out on the last show to see the Snipe and D.VIII.. Here are few shots from my camera - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Stompe the Moth! The British Line... Red Checkers My Fav... P-40! Ground Target? and then to top the whole show off... I got to go up in the P-40 for 10 minutes after the show!
