Good, I'm glad he's got it back running again, the sky looks better with those awesome lines in it.

Due to a lot of requests I have just added the Tauranga airshow photos to my website. Normally wait for the magazines to do their thing but due to the interest I thought I better not muck around.

Legends at Tauranga. Anyone know the names of these chaps? I know Bryan Cox is in the middle and Bernard Nelson is 5th from the left with the striped jersey(at the back).[/quote] 10th from left is Jack Meehan Lancaster W/O tail gunner,12th from left is David Cohu Corsair pilot Pacific and J Force. Both live at Mt. Maunganui. And then over another 2 hiding at the back is TT Bland.

Richard, I just had a chance to watch your film above of the Pitts display. Wow, fantastic, I really felt in the cockpit flying with you. How is the camera mounted in the cockpit, it is on your helmet? It gets a fantastic view.

And the P-40 film - WOW!! Thanks so much for posting that, what an amazing experience it is to see inside a P-40N flown by a fantastic pilot like that. It was really like being there, I could feel every bump and turn, almost small the exhaust fumes. Wonderful, wonderful footage!

Thanks Dave
Nice comments.
The footage form the Pitts is from the two flights at Tauranga. With the footage looking back it was on the practice day with the camera mounted on the hand hold on the top wing, my flying wasn't that good on the Saturday (that's why it's called a practice!) and required a greater effort for the Sunday! Which had the camera mounted on my helmet. The good thing about the camera is that it is always in focus, thus allowing it to be mounted on a moveable object with good results. I agree with you regarding the footage from the P40, shows what it is really like to be in the hot seat.

The kids loved watching those videos too, as they saw them from the ground but to see how the pilots handled those old birds was something else! Made it look a bit easy there... Well done on those videos.

I think the impressive thing about watching Richard doing aerobatics is he didn't spew once. I nearly spewed just watching the video. ;D

Too busy to worry about things like that! Also I eat lots of bananas! The camera is a Drift HD170 Steath, which was given to me in the form of sponsorship by Action cameras in England www.actioncameras.co.ukThey have them currently listed for 199.99 English pounds. Because they sponsored me I can't tell you that someone in New Zealand who flies Tiger moths etc for a living and hangs out on this forum also sells them. They are a great bit of kit, and it is quite easy even for people like me to get good results.
