As Dave said for Omaka 2011... This new thread if purely for photos from the airshow that will be happening this weekend. Please place them here so they don't get buried in the discussion on the other thread. There's one rule: No more than ten photos per post please, as the dial up people have a nightmare opening so many if there's 30 photos to a post and 15 posts per page.
Let the fun begin...
I'll kick off with some pre-show practice/arrivals in a bit...

Nice shot, but to be honest I think they have ruined it byputting all that sponsorship stuff over it.

Someone was saying that the RAF A330 MRTT was there. This seemed odd to me, as I thought we'd be able to see it from where we were. He must have got confused with the Wedgetail?

Nice pictures, guys! Thank you for posting them for all of us who cannot be there. You can almost feel the heat and hear the sound from that Hornet, Errol.

fantastic shots guys, and the show hasn't even started. Nice to see the RAAF sent the 77sqn anniv bird, as most of the others look pretty ordinary in their grey on dirty grey. BTW, is that the RAAF C17 on the ground or the USAF?

The aircraft on the right hand side of the overhead shot is the USAF aeroplane, and down the far end is the RAAF machine. One of the Hornet pilots said that two C-17s have come over to support the Hornets so a big commitment by RAAF.

Nice shot, but to be honest I think they have ruined it byputting all that sponsorship stuff over it. Without the sponsorship it probably wouldn't be there ! We need to change our thinking from purism to thank god there are sponsors who can make occasions like this a reality. Its called the real world.

No photos from me... too busy running around for most of the day.
Good airshow from the display side of things... tower crew pretty happy, pilots all happy, and the overseas visitors pretty happy (including the Yank 4 star!). Few things that could be improved, as always.
Brendon Deere sounded pleased about how the Avenger display went! Pity about AL not flying its display though.
Pity about the ground side of things. Traffic was pretty shocking, and the organisation of parking made an already bad situation worse. Also a pity about the lighties flying in... but if you all arrive with 25 mins til the airspace closes, well, hard luck! It's not going to happen! Most people were okay, nice, early and quick to get to it... some not so much!

Yeah, that Skyhawk is a shocker! Was very disappointed in its presentation... Both Spitfires took the the air, and the dual seater displayed, but AL landed again without displaying...
