We are coming up from Hawkes Bay by car, attending Ardmore then staying in Auckland City on Saturday night 29th and would kill to get to the Subritzky function on the Sunday. Can somebody please help me with the protocol needed to achieve this. I could assist with transport from City to Dairy Flat if needed. Thanking you in anticipation, Selwyn.

IMPORTANT REQUEST
Is anyone travelling from or through Whangarei down to Ardmore for the Mosquito event, and back afterwards? Driving or flying?
One of our WWII Mosquito veterans who wished to come down just for the flying display has got transport issues. He and his wife were going to come on an organised bus trip from Whangarei but they discovered that it would mean they had to be up at 5am to meet the bus and it would be too long a day for them both by the time they got back. If anyone is travelling down a little later in the day and can perhaps offer him a lift there and back, please let me know ASAP. He's a really great chap and was so looking forward to this event. He flew PRU Mosquitoes and Spitfires in WWII, and also Beaufighters.
Alternately if anyone is coming down the day before that could bring him, maybe we can find a billet for him overnight? And he could go back after the eventwith the kind person who volunteers?
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?

If I wasn't working the nightshift finishing the morning of the airshow I'd drive up and pick them up myself! Can't do enough for these guys that "laid it on the line" for us! Just hope I can stay awake for the show!

Hi Dave, what I would like to know is what I need to do to be able to be given access to the event at Subritzky's. Is there a membership process to go through?

Selwyn, as stated earlier in the thread, please email me your full name and if anyone else is coming with you, their full names. Simple as that. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Andy, That is kind. We'll keep this in mind. Charles does not drive long distance anymore so we still need to get them there to Auckland, but I will keep this in mind if we canformulate a plan. Good man!

Andy and Mike,
Last night I let Charles, the PRU Mosquito pilot, and his wife Mary, know about your kind offer to help get them to the airshow. They really appreciated the kind thought I think but sadly I received this reply today:
"Dave,
It was very kind of you to send out an SOS with the object of getting us to the Mossie launch, but it has become obvious that we shall not be able to go. Neither Mary nor I can walk very far nowadays, and the expected crowds would hamper us further. Thus we feel that we just cannot, at our ages, undertake the sort of day which we would have relished a few years ago. It is, therefore, with the greatest regret that we shall not attend, despite all the arrangements which would be available for our comfort.
Our thanks to you for the trouble you have gone to in order to make this occasion a memorable one.
Charles and Mary"

I don't fully understand this Ticketek process. Do we have to buy from them? Can we not pay at the gate when we get off the bus?

No and Yes.

Your brevity on the second question needs verification Colin. In absolute terms, you are saying we cannot pay at the gate. Is that what you really meant?

My understanding is, No, you do not have to by from Ticketek Yes, you can buy at the gate. Steve.

There are definitely gate sales to the airshow, or alternately you can pre-buy the tickets online, so you have both options.

IMPORTANT REQUEST
Can anyone please assist this veteran?
Is there anyone here who will be travelling to the Mosquito event on the 29th of September, and who is attending the Honour Dinner also, who can please pick up and transport a Mosquito veteran from central Auckland and back after the dinner?
He is flying up from Christchurch and intends to stay in a hotel near to the Britomart railway station he tells me. He has only just told me he needs transport to and from the event at Ardmore.
Can anyone here pick him up and drop him back please? If yes, let me know asap. Thanks.

Hi Dave,
I might be able to help, but probably only to drop him home after the dinner if that's any help? I'm helping out at Warbirds on the day so will be there very early and will not go home between the event and dinner. If you get really stuck let me know as my wife will be coming out and might be able to assist. Although we haven't work the logistic out yet..lol, Cheers Daniel

Hello Guys,
If anyone needs a lift I'm willing to help, I'm going from around Greenlane/One Tree Hill way and I can divert, but I won't be attending the dinner, just the airshow.
Dave, I'll enquire if I can make the forum meet at the Subritzky's, but could you please put me down as a tentative for Sunday? I'll send you an email.
Cheers.
