I RD Woodbourne, I haven't a date on the photo, when I can find where I put the photocopy of my F 125 I should be able to narrow it down.Line up was at Woodbourne also, lined up outside about where they currently are by 5 hangar. The photo of 07 is from the Manawatu Evening Standard. Most of my A4 shots are on slides, taken in the early 70s

I like that roadrunner livery.
Why the markings on the stripped aircraft? Did it have to fly somewhere whilst stripped?

Yes - used to strip them at the RD - first job of the Group - then fly them down to the ANZ Paintshop at Harewood - at the end of the Group.
What year did the Groups come back into the RNZAF (from ANZ Mangare) - about 1981 ?...do you know Shorty.

Are those Mirages at Hamilton Airport? Not sure if it is, but it looks similar to the old terminal.

Agree Mirages are at the AA opening. Location is the hardstand airside of what is now the AirNZ domestic terminal.

Thanks. I didn't think that the Mirage would be able to operate from Hamilton in those days.

In front of the current domestic terminal Air NZ. Note the flood light and siren tower on the right and flagpoles in the centre

Back again, this time with some of the C 130s when they were all shiny and new. Taken at Ohakea in May 1965 in the company of a polished Devon, a Harvard and a 2 seat Vampire. Note also the repair work to the frontage of 42 Squadrons hangar. A few years later there was another problem with the roof where lumps of concrete kept falling off and hard hats were supplied for those working inside. Gawd know what would have happened to any aircraft in there if a lump hit one. scan0172 by Neville Mines, on Flickr

And now for something completely different! Not exactly photos but you may find them interesting any way. The only question remaining is GI June left handed? scan0123 by Neville Mines, on Flickr scan0122 by Neville Mines, on Flickr

Hmm, what is the story with the calendar, was it issued to RNZAF personnel or just US troops?
As for the Hercules, great shots of those early days. I like the Zap, it must have taken a wee while to do.
Seeing the chutes in that shot of the Hercules has lead me to wonder who did the parachute training before the Hercules arrived? Did No. 40 Squadron use the Hastings for paratrooper drops at all? Or did No. 41 Squadron do the training with their Dakotas? or was it perhaps done by No. 1 Squadron with Bristols? Does anyone know?

Dave, Seeing as how they were published by SOPAC my guess that were distributed to all units in SOPAC which included NZ units. Re the Canadian zap, there is a thread here somewhere about it. I think all three units you mentioned did para training depending on aircraft availability and where the troops were at the time.
