Hi Dave, thanks for posting those, was a great flight, these aircraft came along as well. They were taken from a B-25.

Good to see two hurries together too, and part of the BOB flight. The camera ship obviously the odd one out from the ground...

Was anyone taking photos from the Lancaster's rear turret Gavin?

Epic, Gavin, just epic.
Will those head-on shots appear on the website in due course?

Passengers are not allowed to fly in the rear turret from what I was told but not sure why.
As for the aircraft the Lancaster is owned by the Canadian Warplane Heritage. Mossie, Spitfire, and Hurricane owned by Jerry Yagen, the other Spitfire and Hurricane are owned by Vintage Wings Of Canada.
Will post a photo of the B25 another time but it did wear roundels was wasn't too much out of place :-)

Interestingly in that formation there are types flown by: No. 75 (NZ) Squadron - Lancaster No. 485 (NZ) Squadron - Spitfires No. 486 (NZ) Squadron - Hurricanes No.'s 487, 488 and 489 (NZ) Squadrons - Mosquito If they'd had a Catalina flying alongside we could have also had No. 490 (NZ) Squadron and had the full set.

Also, aircraft of those types in markings as flown by NZers in WW2 exist (non-flyable in the case of the Lanc and (currently) Cat).
Are there any Cats in Coastal Command markings?

That Catalina that got chopped up recently (a bloody crime!!) I'm sure that used to be in Coastal Command markings. Not sure if there is a second one?

Thanks, Gavin. I've got my eye on several images. Just have to work out sizes. Looking forward to the Mitchell photo. My favourite example because of the roundels!

Here is the B-25, we took off first and managed to squeeze in some "low" passes down the runway while everyone else was busy which was a lot of fun. A very nice example.

Snap! With a video camera... the B-25 looks great in the Normandy colours! (With the roundel... )

Wonderful, Gavin. Love it.
The solid nose has always intrigued me with the CWH's example. Of all the ETO RAF Mitchells I've drooled over, I don't recall seeing one with a solid nose. Not that I really care in all honesty (from a "it's flying, paint it pink if you want" point of view). There's also the possibility that I've missed something so there's something new to learn!
