The Fi-103 looks amazing. I wonder what the donk is? An actual pulsejet would be well beyond amazing into, into... Superlatives fail me... (Assuming of course that the photo isn't just a cunning photoshop to entrap the gullible, like me...) Hmm, I cant possibly comment. However Gerts Bleriot is very nice :-)

I just realised that in exactly two weeks I'll be reflecting on an awesome three days at my favourite aerodrome and looking forward to a great awards dinner. Two weeks!
I must say I'd forgotten about the CFFC Fokker, and am still on the edge of my seat looking forward to updates on their other unflown machine?

Engine runs carried out on the Bleriot at Omaka yesterday - taken with my phone from the car park, so not so clear. Great work guys and looking forward to seeing it in the air.

Dave has asked me to share this wee map I made up for the Auster club guys(as some are from overseas) so as the forum meet is doing the same thing at the same venues (namely eat and drink at Aero Club then off to John's hangar by 7pm). Looks like the Auster has been flown by a couple of the TVAL pilots (not including the two actually owning them) so it looks like most of the TVAL pilots will be attending. We are also going to see if we can get Keith Skilling along as well. (One of the TVAL pilots said he owns a Chipmunk which is near enough to an Auster ha ha) Looks set to be an interesting Forum Meet!

Hey Dave, any updates on the Chariots of Fire Fokker E.V/D.VIII ? Ive started a little more work on it to present it in restoration row, time permitting. However my priority is to get Gerts Bleriot through its signoff and onto its test flying before i put more time into the Fokker

It is probably just me, but I do find some of this reenactment stuff weird and bordering on something more. I guess it keeps them happy tho

It is probably just me, but I do find some of this reenactment stuff weird and bordering on something more. I guess it keeps them happy tho having met a few re-enactors at Wanaka years ago when my Step Dad was part of the War Horses crew I can say they are a diverse group... I was volunteered to take part in one of the set pieces - which saw me betrayed to the enemy by said StepDad Stioux who was "shot" for his troubles. I was then dragged from the Gold Stand by 'the Germans' before being rescued by the heroic Commander of the British forces. Most of the re-enactors were there to add to the overall entertainment factor & atmosphere of the Air Show & were dead keen on the aviation. A few were there to play dress ups & hadn't noticed that there was an airshow happening. The history fans amongst the group tend to try & make the rest get it right but they are sometimes left rolling their eyes or grinding their teeth when inaccuracies creep in. As we see in this lovely forum, it takes all kinds cheers - Teresa ps I am so looking forward to Easter!

I booked and paid for my Awards Dinner ticket this morning My only experience of re-enactment was wearing an Air Gunner's uniform in an open Jeep in the 2007 Blenheim Christmas parade - other mates were a soldier and sailor so we had a great tri-service thing going on! Re-enactment can be great to watch if you're in the front row or on a stand, otherwise you simply can't see what's going on. DaveL - great to hear of the effort being put into ZK-BXI, I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

You're going to need a very early start Bruce if you're staying in Queenstown! Ooops, slight typo. I'll fix it.

Stunning shots - wow! This must be the first Bristol Freighter engine change in a couple of decades, right? Yep you be correct Dave last time was on this very Bristol when Safe Air took away the port engine and I think a local chap supplied an EQC engine he had to replace it. Just thinking perhaps the previous last engine change (apart from Al's currents efforts) would be in Canada since the engine from CPT ended up over there?
