Considering Graeme hasn't done this before he's making it look easy (which I'm sure it's anything but). And still with a stock standard engine.

It would seem from the silver race pairings released for tomorrow Graeme is not there,so he must have opted to go for the Gold race!!

Does anyone know if RARA produce a yearly DVD of the races and release it in region 4 format? I know they used to (I have the 2006 one) but they close down the online store for race week so I can't check. It would seem from the silver race pairings released for tomorrow Graeme is not there,so he must have opted to go for the Gold race!! Oh, wow....I have mixed feelings about that. I'm pretty sure he could win Silver, but the competition in Gold is huge...but at the same time, competing in the Unlimited Gold at your first ever races as a competitor is amazing!

If anyone's keen, the Unlimited Heat 3A (Strega, Voodoo etc) is about to start - taking off now.

Strega's first lap was over 502mph, and the gap between the two Superstangs and Dreadnought....wow....

I'm so glad they've decided to go for the gold final. It's such a fantastic story for their Reno debut.
I wonder if it'll get a mention in the sport section of the news tonight? Because it should!
Does anyone have any contacts with any of the TV news stations and put a word their way?

Judging by the chat here and on Facebook and the messages I have been getting from people I think Graeme and Full Noise are recreating the biggest buzz in the New Zealand aviation scene since the second Mosquito first flew!

That's fantastic! Does anyone know if RARA produce a yearly DVD of the races and release it in region 4 format? Both of my DVD players and two of my three of my BluRay players will play DVDs from any region. I don't even know why distributors bother with that region stuff any more because every man and his dog is getting around it. If you go searching on the internet, you can find software to beat region restrictions on players which don't already do it. AWESOME to see someone giving them “A TASTE OF KIWI” at Reno. I haven't been watching it live, but I've been following what has been happening. (yeah, I know AWESOME is a totally misused and abused word the way young people use it, but I reckon it is appropriate in this case)

I've put it out among the SAA Mailing lists - I think there will be a LOT of interest amongst the NZ aviation community. I hope it doesnt overload the live stream!

I was thinking yesterday that surely one of the big news programmes would send their US correspondent to cover it. Would be amazing to see on TV!

Nice montage! I think you'll have to interview Graeme again Dave as I'm sure you'll get a lot of interested parties listening wanting to know what it was like.

Hear hear, that's going to be a great episode!
At Reno the Unlimiteds have a tradition where, before the Sunday Gold race, the competing aircraft are lined up facing the stands and each plane and pilot are introduced in turn by the announcers (I think the heads of RARA do a walk meeting them and wishing them luck, too). Then they start, taxi and race. It may pay to tune in from 10.30 or so to catch that.

If I can I'd like to get Graeme back on along with Jay, Dan, Ryan, Tracy and/or Al, get all their thoughts.
Thanks for that tip Zac.

Well I'd put money on every NZ Aviation journalist wanting to do an article for their respective magazine

Not a peep on TVNZ's ONE News this evening....so far.
Perhaps in the Sports news section?
Then again, I think I just saw a pig fly past in the dark outside my window.
