Such a shame the witches couldn't stick around until the moonrise. That would have been an amazing photographic opportunity.

We were keen to try to get them in front of the moon as well. The previous evening we achieved that and Scott McKenzie may have some photos. The real problems were two fold. It was getting close to the fireworks start, and orientation is really dificult when it gets fully dark. They just become a black blob in the sky and tough to safely control.

Great capture Peter. Detail is so good can also spot the GoPro mount on the canopy. Hopefully some footage will come out.

That's a venturi. Usually used to create a vacuum to run some of the cockpit instruments instead of an engine driven vacuum pump. My Auster had one to drive things like the Turn and slip. I think artificial horizons use one too.
