@nzairforce: Easter treats. We’ll be on display this Easter weekend at the @omakaairshow with aerial displays from the Seasprite helicopter, the T6C Texan II aircraft and our Kiwi Blue parachute team. We will also have static displays of our NH90 and A109LUH helicopters.

So who's going to be around on Thursday? I'm flying in (commercial) early morning and will be at Omaka most of the day. Happy to meet up for dinner away from Omaka.

So who's going to be around on Thursday? Teresa and I are driving up Thursday after lunch and Don Simms and his friend Blair are too. Not sure on ETA however but probably late afternoon. I know last time we had a bit of trouble finding somewhere to eat Thursday evening but we had a great meal at a place in central Blenheim whose name currently escapes me. (Don do you recall?) We enjoyed it so much we had dinner there again!

After consulting Don it was Fairweathers. It's 34 Scott Street in town. Here's the website: Here

The airfield is generally closed to public access on the Thursday before the airshow, so viewing opportunities might be limited. The AHC will probably be open (no posting to say it isn't), so their carpark might be the closest you get to the action.

Or park by the recycle centre walk up the river track and at the top end is right at the end of runway 12/30

Per Gold Pass details on website I've never been in the Dangerous Skies exhibiton, as it is closed on the Thursday too (and perhaps longer), although I do have the T-shirt! The last couple of shows there has been access partially up the grass strip running south from the carpark. But the main attraction on Thursday is the aircraft activity between the OAHC and the hangars behind it. Looking at the show website, there has been a major change to the parking: The ticket page still lists 'reserved car parking' for Gold Pass.

My mate and I will be there around Lunchtime (hoepfully) We were thinking to tracking out to the Airfield to see where it is (Last time I was in Blenheim was 1987) and to try and catch some arrivals.

Thursday, late arvo for us.....in a campervan. Everyone else should be not far behind us LOL. No, I do actually pull over for others now, but I used to find that somehow being passed was a threat to my manliness, which ment I drove like an idiot so I didn't get overtaken.....what a fool I was, LOL

I'll be here with WONZ on the laptop and Facebook on the phone, refreshing to read reports and see photos from those of you in attendance. I hope you have good weather, good aircraft serviceability, and good times!
John Luff was fuelling the Venom when I popped by the airport after work today and about half an hour later they whistled on by our house. Lovely!

Hardyakka and I are coming down on the Warbirds chartered Air Chathams Convair 580 on Saturday. I'm almost as excited for my first flight on the Convair as I am for the airshow.

Or park by the recycle centre walk up the river track and at the top end is right at the end of runway 12/30 Hi everyone, I am not referring to this post with what I am about to say but as we all know our world has changed since the tragic events in Christchurch whether we like it or not and please don't use this post as a reason to start a political debate around that as the thread is about Classic Fighters 2019. Can we please ask that everyone remain in the designated public areas during and around the airshow. Security at the event is tighter than in past years, the NZ Police will have a stronger presence so some places you may have gone in the past to watch or photograph aircraft may not be available anymore due to the increase in security. The last thing we need is for displays to be possibly stopped due to somebody being in the wrong place in the eyes of the security team. The increased level of security and vigilance is the same at all large events around New Zealand at present so is not specific to just our airshow. Same will apply for Woodbourne as well with the Hornets operating from there, it would be very disappointed to see a Hornet display cancelled in its tracks if people need to be dealt with due to being somewhere where they should not be. I doubt any forum members will find themselves in any trouble anyway so just a bit of a heads up really.

C-17 just heading in to Wellington. Hornet support? It is in the area doing low level nav, just made a low approach and overshoot into WB and full throttle departure. Very cool!

Cheers Anthony It is one post I didn't want to make but we are trying hard to be pro-active and hopefully we will only need the local security company to be able to do the job as they usually do without the need to waste Police time on little things so they can focus on the big picture.
