What's with the UK based Bristol Scout on the flyer? The 2016 Open Day had the NZ Warbirds Ardmore local BE2e-1 ZK-VCM on it...

I think non-residents might be more common than not on their posters...

The aeroplane is there for a reason and I didn't want to say anything until Frank showed his hand. If you are friends with him on FB have a look at his page.
Although not the aircraft in the picture, he is now the owner of a rotary powered Scout to be based at Ardmore.

Yip. I knew too but did not want to say anything when John posted his question.

Does anyone know when the last time an Avenger was at Ardmore? Just wondering. It'll be great to see it there.

I am trying to recall, was Brendon's there for the Mossie event in 2012?

I don't remember it being there.

I'm fairly sure it wasn't. I can't think of it ever being at Ardmore, even under Alpine's ownership.

Hmm. Well if Plonky has not visited Ardmore, the last one there must be the MOTAT one when it was stored there?

Actually, perhaps Plonky visited Ardmore on the way to, or way home from, Australia?

Yes Johnnyfalcon you are correct that is our Bristol Scout 1264 flying high on the poster, we guess they just wanted a generic photograph of a Bristol Scout flying and seeing as we have the only airworthy Rotary engine scout then of course they will have chosen it. We just wish we were also there with you! You can find out lots of information about our rebuilding grandads aircraft from original parts at Facebook: @bristol Scout Twitter: @scoutbuilder and our blog at www.bristolscout.wordpress.comWe do have links with NZ due to our 80hp Le Rhone being supplied by TVAL But at least you can see us flying here! Just listen to that wonderful engine! If the technology doesn't work for video just let me know!

Aye, but emphasis was on 'rotary' we are looking forward to seeing pictures and footage from the show! It should be a great event. Who knows you could one day have 2 Bristol Scouts flying over there - now that would be fun...
