This is truly artful! Really reminds me of Young C. Parks amazing Corsair and Mustang models. Clever idea about the paint chipping as well! Young C Parks models are amazing and what convinced me that building at 1:6 scale would be possible.

Also that David Glen guy who did an early model Spitfire then Mustang and Mk IX Spitfire, be great if you did a book on your P40 build as he did? Your build is right up there with these chaps.

Back home after 6 weeks in WA. Working on the tail group. Thanks to Curtis for supplying a missing drawing for the fin. Horizontal stabiliser main beams. Beginnings of the rudder.

Been hanging for an update, wow there is a fair bit involved in the rudder, I am sure you mentioned the control surfaces will be operational right?

Been hanging for an update, wow there is a fair bit involved in the rudder, I am sure you mentioned the control surfaces will be operational right? As best as I can. The major surfaces will be functional. The trim tabs will be made and fitted, but not sure on how functional they will be at this stage.

The rudder is proving to be a bit tricky to assemble, not a lot of room to get tools in place to tighten nuts and bolts. The vertical rods have made a huge difference to the alignment and rigidity.

I don't comment on each update because I'm running out of superlatives, but I thoroughly enjoy each one.

Progress was a little bit slow this week. Slowly starting to take shape. Figured out a way to make the cap strips on either side of the rudder ribs.

Rudder trim tab. Bit disappointed with the current finish of this. Will look to tidy this up a bit later on.
