Not much to update on at the moment sorry other than we now have a jig for the rear fuse and she will soon be placed into it so we can start the overhaul and corrosion removal. We quite understand Nick. Life has a way of putting obstacles in your way. Frustrating but sometimes when its just you beavering away the project has to wait. I managed to achieve b....r all on the Auster last year!

I can also add that i really really hate corrosion now. There was alot more than we first thought that has required hours and hours of beed blasting.

Interesting that you have the two "serrated" footrests for the rear gun position. They were removed from most aircraft.

Interesting that you have the two "serrated" footrests for the rear gun position. They were removed from most aircraft. Yes they were still fitted when we picked her up. Also still had the rear canopy folding mechanism semi installed all be it a bit pulled apart. And the rear floor pan for the camera view finder was found in the spare parts with paint scratches that matched up to the fuse.

a photo of 68 at john smiths place in front of his shed.
"We are still not sure what colours to paint her. But have plenty of time to pick one." Now that scheme would be fantastic - the History of 68 alive and airworthy

Nick's still having issues sharing via Flickr so in the interim he's asked me to take over photo-sharing duties! Underlined are links to the relevant Facebook posts (although you'll need to be a member of the T-6 Harvard New Zealand group to see them there). Cheers zac for posting them you are a master at posting pics. Slow progress at the moment we are slowly getting ahead and have ordered bits from lance in america to finish the rear fuse. Tube frame is ready for blasting and have a week off work next week to get that done and re-weld in the swivel seat mount that was cut out. More progress pics to come soon.
