You know what would have been good? A TV ad commemorating the P-3’s long service, saying thank you and farewell from the nation. Something either impeachably sober and honorable, or something kick-ass like the entire fleet in formation low over the water. Same story for the Hercs. Might help drive recruitment as well.

Sadly television adverts cost a LOT of money to make and LOT of money to air. Something the NZDF does not have.

Hi everyone does anyone know if any details have been released if any for the final Orion flyover for the South Island centers as yet ?? www.facebook.com/NZAirForce/posts/pfbid0QAvU5Lv5GH3XXeBzMh9CYYSKxTokG2A4FXaVbT7RqDqnPmNgcF44UNsQo4Q5219blThe route is highly dependent on the weather around the Southern Alps, especially for those towns and cities between Invercargill and Hokitika. If the weather is poor, expect a delay of 15-20 minutes for those towns on the West Coast, and 30 minutes to an hour at Woodbourne (depending on turbulence). The flight plan and approximate times are as follows: Base Auckland - 1000 Christchurch - 1150-1200 Rakaia - 1308 Ashburton - 1312 Timaru - 1322 Wamate - 1328 Oamaru - 1334 Dunedin - 1349 Gore - 1407 Invercargill - 1415 Riverton - 1419 Nightcaps - 1426 Mossburn - 1431 Athol - 1436 Kingston - 1439 Queenstown - 1445 Cromwell - 1451 Wanaka - 1458 Hokitika - 1539 Greymouth - 1544 Westport - 1556 Murchison - 1606 Nelson - 1620 Havelock - 1626 Woodbourne - 1630

The P-3s have left Whenuapai. They made a good noise.

If anyone could advise on current location it would be appreciated.
Also, has he route changed at all or all locations going ahead as noted above?

The flight disappeared from FR24,but have reappeared as 'No Call Sign' which previously was the P3 in trail to BLU1.
When Baz pasted me an update from in WhatsApp to say they would be overhead the RNZAF Museum @ 12:30pm I had lunch a little early, headed down to the Bridge of Remembrance and then stood looking out to the east. They came in over the central city at speed @ 12:28pm and it was delightful to see the Orion in flight for the last time. Thanks to all the aircrew involved in today's flights and to all former crews and support personnel involved in operating these aircraft on behalf of our country

Had then on ADS tracker - looks like they've landed at Harewood - Herc has come online there. Trying to find updates.
Dad was at Wigram, two lowspeed passes right over him - I am soooo happy.

Dad's at Harewood - the two P3s are on the ground there. "2P3 & Herc on gnd @ rnzaf air mov look empty & no one around" at 1:12 then at 1:18 "A few ground crew around". Doesn't sound like they're going to be going back up anytime soon with that. Anyone got anything?

Hopefully they resume. The Herc might accompany them like was the case in Auckland, assume for photos.

Yeah okay I feel like an idio - the flightplan had CHC at 12:00 and then Rakaia at 1:08 (13:08) so I guess that was a scheduled stop. Didn't notice the 1hr 8minute difference in the times there! Doh!
I guess with a 45 min delay that means they should be back up in 15 mins?

They have disappeared, being NZ it probably is now top-secret mission.
