That may well be what you get... am I allowed to express how I had my well-founded doubts about these dates considering the unstable nature of the weather here in the roaring forties this time of year? Hope springs eternal. I guess.

Despite the unpredictable weather, our team, contractors, and suppliers are still hard at work on-site and actively preparing for this weekend!
We understand that many of you are eagerly anticipating our plans, particularly with the uncertainty surrounding the weather. The weather is still constantly shifting, and it's still too early to make any definitive predictions. Today, multiple weather websites advised it’d rain, and apart from a light mist this morning, it’s been a steady but cloudy day. We, no doubt like yourselves, are vigilantly monitoring the situation.
There are numerous variables in play at the moment – from the amount of rain to wind and gust conditions. Our team are diligently working while keeping a keen eye on the skies and the forecasts.
Stay tuned to our Facebook page and website for updates. We know this isn't much of an update compared to our last one, but our stance hasn't become much clearer. We'll be sharing another update tomorrow.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for clearer skies, but in the meantime, let the excitement build!

Looks like a different sensor/comms fit than ours will have.

Kia ora Saturday event goers!

Wings Over Wairarapa is all set to soar tomorrow, Saturday 25 November. Gates will now open at 9am, changing from 8am. This allows us a bit of extra time in the morning to ensure the site is safe after the rain we’ve been experiencing and are expecting overnight.

Our Airside Manager is putting in the hard yards with pilots and aircraft to craft a fantastic flight programme, which we'll load onto our website as soon as we’re able. We are having to work this around the weather conditions which has impacted the early arrival of some of our aircraft. The flying programme may change between when we post it today and when flying starts tomorrow, we will keep it as up to date as we can.

Unfortunately, we regret to inform everyone that due to adverse weather around the country affecting the arrival of some of our aircraft, Wings Over Wairarapa has made the decision to postpone the full Saturday show to Sunday, 26 November. Simply many of our aircraft could not get here.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding as safety is our top priority. Please note the following important information regarding your tickets.

All Saturday tickets will be automatically transferred to Sunday, 26 November, by Eventfinda. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
If you find yourself unable to attend the rescheduled event on Sunday, we understand. We will open a refund period of four weeks for those who cannot make it tomorrow. This refund option will be facilitated through your point of purchase.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our decision to reschedule is driven by the commitment to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Kia ora Sunday event goers!
Wings Over Wairarapa is all set to soar tomorrow, Sunday 26 November. We’ve got some key info for you in anticipation.
Gates will now open at 9am, changing from 8am, with flying kicking off from 11am. This allows us a bit of extra time in the morning to ensure the site is safe after the weather we’ve been experiencing.
Aircraft include a variety from the New Zealand Defence Force and The Vintage Aviator Limited, as well as the Avro Anson, Strikemaster, Tiger Moth, Chipmunk, SuperPac 750 XL, with the day finishing with an airfield attack. We’re still working hard with the pilots to get other aircraft to the Air Festival tomorrow that haven’t been able to arrive due to the weather.
Plus, our Take Flight groundside activities will keep you entertained from the moment the gates swing open and will continue throughout the day until gates close. Expect stage performances by Nanogirl Labs, and explore the NZDF Hub which is a tented camp of the defence force area with the opportunity to check out the trades on offer, talk to NZDF personal and check out the variety of vehicles and aircraft onsite.
Come and visit Boeings VR training system of their physical CST-100 Starliner used by astronauts, engineer your own bridge with ICE Bridge before you test it by walking across it, the Argo Navis Aerospace rocket is on display (be sure to chat to the team about their start up project), and one of our Take Flight sponsors, Leonardo, will offer you opportunities to explore how helicopters work. Chat with the team in the New Zealand Aviation Federation marquee who bring together all the sectors of general aviation and start exploring your career path today! Check out our website for a list of who’ll be onsite.
Keep in mind, the ground conditions are a tad soft, so make sure to dress accordingly – it's squishy underfoot and tyre. If you do bring an umbrella, please remember to put it down when you’re near the flight line.
Please note: if you are staying at Masterton A&P Showgrounds, the first shuttle will now depart at 8:45am.
