From memory its been bugging me for ages. No I cant pin point it This would have been around 2000/01 But near Workworth in a near a small but steep bay used as a boat ramp we drove up from the ramp, sat out side a dairy eating fish and chips I looked up and there was the typical mid section of a Hudson/Loadstar with a big kiwi painted on the front. Had a look inside looked to be out of action for a while, hope she is still around. I have a pic somewhere Leave it with me I shall have to dig it out.......

Like many of the the asiatic countries, the locals are very efficient at recycling many metal parts to melt down and make as trinkets to sell or use in every day housing parts, un like the jungles of PNG where everything was left to rot. BUT you never know whats been buried or sitting in a jungle on a mountain clearing some where.

"] "]Currently living in Norway until August of 2013 This country is FULL of Luftwaffa aircraft since only 80% of Norway is habitable the rest is mountains, lakes and fjords Iv been to 4 crash sites around the small city of Stavanger (2 He111 , 1 Hudson and 1 Ju52) Its dam cold here and most of the parts are very nicely preserved. They pulled a He115 out of the fjord into of my house while I was in Greece this summer back from the dead!! Bodo museum is great so many great exhibits, parts of Ju87 and Blackburn Skua's as future projects. They Norwegians use their air force Sea Kings to go around the mountains picking parts of aircraft every summer so they must have one hell of a spares collection!!! Also look into Sola Air Museum (housed in Massive former Luftwaffe Seaplane base and Another RNAF museum based near Oslo , Gardermoan they should be getting a fully restored Ju88 very soon [/img][/img][/img]

Wow great to see a great part of Kiwi creativity. Sadly she's not connected the rest of the aircraft, I have seen another one of these on the back of a beach batch property up North Land with a Giant cartoon kiwi painted on the side, also sadly rusting away.
What is he after the potential new owner to restore it to active caravan status ? Thank for sharing the pic and hopefully you can find her a good home

The farmer also told me his friend had a P40 tail while from one of the crash sites. Anyone been to or know of the rough are of the crashes

Sorry for the late reply been over in Ozz for a visit Wow that's some fantastic work you've carried out there on the MKII fuse, just go's to show what can be accomplished with a little TLC and a load of time and research. A hydraulic shelf would be much appreciated, many many thanks where are you based??? If you don't mind I've got a few questions?? - On the rear frames there are or wear joining blocks from where the rear fuse & tail assembly would no doubt go, on 1 of mine the scrapper has chopped them off, is there some I could go to get them replace or replicated to the original length??? Also after looking along the hole length of the 2 frames there are no signs as to the RNZAF ID of either aircraft any clues on how to ID them ?? Again many thanks for the reply's and support Hope to hear from you soon
Kind regaurds

Hello All When I was about 14years old I picked up 2 very badly stripped gutted, gass axed Harvard frames from the back of Ardmore airfield, my parents thought I was crazy at the time, well needless to sey almost 15 years later im in the prosses of stripping down and collecting parts - 1 for me and 1 for the local ATC as a flight simulator. If any body out there has or knows of the location of any static/ unservicable, unwanted cockpit fittings, instruments please get intouch i'd love to hear from you. Im getting the kidds involved in this one and a few of them are taking a keen intrest in our fine aviation history and giving them a new found Hobbie
Many thanks for your time
Kind Regard
H Affleck
