Day off tomorrow so more test driving. Found another Toyota Ractis to test. low km's, brand new tyres, new stereo, very tidy in and out at a good price. Guys at work reckon they are going to call me grandad or gay as they think the car is weird.

It looks like one of those French-styled Nissan S-cargo vans after being slightly crushed.

It looks like a 46T longhall kissed it in the rear! But it is silver, todays neutral colour... safest colour on the road so statistics show... our Mondeo has the same colour too

I am looking at it at a practical way. Currently the van uses $100 per week to get to and from work. I have worked it out this will cost me just $30 Has room in the back for about 10 crates of bread if needed and if neccessary the mrs said she could drive it, unlike the van. If money was no trouble, yes I might have got something different, but for the puposes at the moment, this will work perfectly.

Yes it does look very practical - big space at back - and is cheap to run and not a big heavy van, so suits perfectly. My first tank of gas in the Mondeo was the same 61L as the V6 MPV but we got another 200kms out of it!!! A good South Island journey (no trailers!) and it should easily do over 700kms/tankful... so we are very pleased with the Mondi... I should post some pics... Very pleased, only the second car we took for a drive, but when it ticks all the boxes, why keep going further.

Looks like our Value Cars LTD here in chch as it would be in 1950
just about to take my test drive car back. had it since yesterday arvo so 24 hours is pretty good. Just gave it a wash as the roads around Rolleston are covered in shit at the moment due to lots of road works with laying the new High Speed Fibre cables everywhere. just started our street the other day. Just hoping they don't cut up some of my new ready lawn or go through the underground sprinklers.

That photograph is from the Los Angeles Times archives and was taken in October 1939 during the Auto Show held in the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Change of plans regards the car I test drove for 24 hours. A yard across the road from them has one on a boat that looks even tidier and lower km's so have put a deposit down and just have to wait till end of sept.

Just done a run up and back to see the inlaws. Good old Vitz. 6.4 ltrs per 100km 43.8 mpg happy with that, esp after petrol went up twice at the end of the week
and no speeding tickets. only saw one cop and he was on the sid eof the road chatting to some transient in a hoody looking suspicious just south of Caves diner

Great fuel economy. I thought I was doing great around 9.2L/100kms and an extra 200kms per 60L of tankful... good news!!

Nowt wrong with the old Moondog (Mondeo), I've had a Zetec version as a company car for the past three years and racked up 108,000 Kim's in that time, never missed a beat. Now that I've crossed the ditch and moved company I'm no longer forced to drive a bloody Ford.... So have just splashed out on a new VF Calais V which is an absolute pleasure to drive. Averaged 7.6 litres per 100km on a recent trip so I'm delighted in its economy too for a big car Ooh and it has a HUD too!

Just checked a plotting site for my boat. Shes doing only 17 knots and still just south of japan. Might have to give dean barker aring for a tow, would be faster.
