Nice enough... but at the end of the day it's only a Ford

Can we cut the further posting (after 30 large image links already - I went and counted) on a car that no-one is likely to buy in NZ, it was an interesting topic of folks planning to purchase and debating pros and cons and some have purchased and are proud, but this has become a bit meaningless, despite my being a FORD owner and proud of it. Cheers.

Always found Ford vs Holden a bit meaningless myself

Holden too, is planning for its closure, only Pontiacs and Chevs in future perhaps...

Holden is finished its just a matter of time and will be before years end. A dealer told me that a couple of months ago when I was looking at a new SV6 and that quote made me take a step back.
You will be able to buy a new Ford Mustang in NZ through Ford dealers in around 18 months for those interested and could be earlier. I have a Ford FPV GT so get letters regarding updates from Ford NZ the XR8 will return for the last upgraded Falcon later next year.
The Ford I have now is a great car but with things ceasing for the car in 2017 spares could be difficult for the one I own so might have to move it on. As for a Mustang, not for me as only a two door, drove one in Canada for a couple of weeks earlier this year and was nice enough but the V8 I have now will blow the new Mustang into the weeds but then again I might not have it for much longer due to potential supply issues down the track.

Not quite years end mate.... 2017 it was announced today. I have no issue trading in my 2013 Calais V on a newer model in 2015 - they will have a proper supply chain in place for many years to come i'm sure & will be selling new cars for a while yet.

Sorry, I meant the decision to close will be made by the end of 2013 and like you say it has been now. I read somewhere that 10% of new car sales (seems quite low if true)in Australia are Fords or Holdens so it is difficult for the government to carry on supporting the industry like they have been I guess.

When you consider most of the Police cars and taxi fleets in NZ & Aus are Commodores & Falcons I wonder what the future has in store for these guys Jappas? European? Hmmm....!

McLaren has recently opened a dealership in Auckland if you want to buy a real car, with kiwi pedigree too.

I'm sure there will be twenty forum members really interested, as much as I was interested in a 2014 Ford Mustang. That is interesting though Dave. There will be a small market in NZ for the high spender - or just looking for prestige.
