The cockpit and its position on the Airfix kit is not quite right , which is probably why it looks odd .

What were the visitor numbers like compared to other years . I do not recall seeing as many airliner flights into Wanaka this time , well not as many as other times I have attended ?

Wanye Thomas , a Hamilton modeller , made a beautiful model , from memory he had the Airmodel conversion kit but ultimately scratch built the conversion to the Airfix kit to produce an RNZAF machine . There was also a conversion and correction article in an Aussie modelling magazine .

I have a feeling part of the La 9's restoration was done at Ardmore .

The Airfix kit represents the aircraft as most British people would have seen it at the time , being operated as a faster option to the cross Channel ferrys .

If you did ever get round to producing a kit of the Aerovan I would probably buy two or three .

There always have been other aspects of the WOW , a decent collection of military vehicles , agricultural machinery and vehicles . Aviation trade stands , arts and crafts , food stalls and the likes of Capitol Books where all my New Years resolutions about credit card use get rerationalised ! It has been a while since my last visit to WOW and I was quite taken aback at the ticket security . I was also surprised upon my return home , while going through my efpos reciepts I see the ones for tickets are all headed up as from Cape Kidnappers Hawks Bay ?

I do not think Pegasus ever did a 1/72 Hawker Tomtit but the final brand name from the Veeday , Merlin line , Valhalla did one . As for the Miles Aerovan , Dave Money in Wellington was apparently making masters for a kit for Tasman Models quite a few years ago , but I have no idea what became of the project . Sqd Ldr Frowan's booklet is handy to have . I have a copy but it is in storage while renovations are been done on the house . I would be happy to copy it for anyone in a few months time when the builders are gone .

Some great pictures there . I agree about the Zero display being a bit flat , it was reminiscent of the Wildcat display of a few years back . Maybe that is all they are allowed to do at American airshows .

Had a look at the Freighter on Monday , for the first time in about five years . What an improvement , though I did notice a bird appears to be reoccupying an opening and one oleo seems to have leaked .

How long has there been a Breguet 14 in the museum at Omaka ? I was there for another visit yesterday and was surprised to find the RE 8 has been replaced by a Breguet 14 which looks great , it is a big aircraft and quite a change with it's French colour scheme. Does anyone know it's history , is it a replica ?

I was at Mangere dropping off a passenger leaving for the States and decided afterwards to pop up to the viewing area upstairs . The windows were crowded with people and I quickly realised the Aussies were about to leave , I managed to get the camera out just in time to see the Tanker rise and by standing on a rubbish bin also caught the two pairs and singleton F18's climb into the sky . Why did they not use Whanuepai ?

I appear to have inadvertantly touched something on my camera , now when I attempt to get the pictures from the camera to the computer , there is a BUsy sign flashing above the viewing screen and the computer does not seem to pick up the camera . I can view the images already in the camera useing the camera screen and I am still able to take pictures . Any help gratefully recieved by this novice .

Decisions , decisions , I really hate decisions , if I bought the lens it would cost more than twice the value of my car , but then again my bike is worth more than ten times what the car is worth , I am not hugely in debt , got the bach at the beach , maybe the new roof it desperately needs can wait a little longer ! Anyone got a prediction for the weather this winter in the Bay of Plenty ?
