I am looking for any photos of No. 75 Squadron's Short Stirling bomber.
I have started a painting showing two of the bombers returning from a raid.
Hope you can all help.
Cheers Don Wilkie

well that was an amazing experience have an opening for ones paintings. I had about 100 people turn up including the CEO of the Hawke's Bay Art Gallery (the main Gallery in HB). Also turning up were ww2 veterans from RNZAF. One of the paintings was the Max Collett paint which he lent me the painting of his spitfire "Waipawa Special" which he showed off and talked about with tears running down his checks, he was so proud that I had done an A4 sheet with the painting giving his history of his time during the war. Things I learned have some else taking photos as I did not take any during the evening. I was to busy talking to people and answering questions. Didn't even get a chance to drink much wine myself. I got two commissions from the evening but so far no sales. In saying that the whole venture was to get exposure and my name out there. I have the local news paper doing a piece which they are putting in on Wednesday about my exhibition so that helps with the exposure and may be they took some photos I can get. Well thats about it as a report back to everyone the exhibition runs for two weeks so you never know what may come out of it but I am one very happy person to night

Thanks for the information on Ross Duncan and the tiger Dragonfly. This painting along with 8 others is going into my first ever exhibition I am putting on in Hastings Community exhibition centre on March 4. So really excited to have correct information to go with the painting. The painting title 'Skies the limit' is also the title of the exhibition.

Dave not sure where to put this one. Living in one of the best wine regions in New Zealand my latest painting covers both, the love of Hawke's Bay wines and aircraft together. I have no idea who owns the tiger moth or if it has ever flown in the Hawke's Bay but I chose it because it was the right colour that I wanted for the plane. It is 1200x950 oil on canvas
