Hi all
Thought you would like the following video clip I made of the first morning of the event. Unfortunately the weather did not come to the party resulting in a dark/grey day for videoing. Nevertheless half a shot is better then no shot at all.
All the best

Hi all. I went to pick up my daughter at a friend close to the airport this afternoon. I used the opportunity to pop over to the airport and saw some interesting aircraft. On the apron was a GAF Nomad. Unfortunately I could not get close enough to take a pic but it had a dark red tail. The fuselage was white with a dark blue cheat-line low down on the fuselage. Anybody know anything more about this aircraft? Second interesting aircraft was an Air Freight Convair CV 580. The aircraft performed several approaches but did not land while I was there. At times the undercarriage was extended at other times not. I assume it was involved in crew training? As it kept coming straight over me I was not able to get its registration number! Although the light was not good with large dark clouds in the direction of the approaching aircraft. I nevertheless took a few pics. Although they are not to good I hope they might still be of interest? I also watched an Air NZ Link Beech 1900D do several touch and go’s. The aircraft flew tight circuits and on several of them the crew did not retract the undercarrige. I assume they are still checking the aircrafts undercarriage issues? While all of the above was taking place Cessna ZK WHY came across the fence, engine barely ticking over. It looked wonderfully peaceful as it floated over the runway threshold and touched down ever so softly…. Very nice!!!! The last pic for the day is one of CTC’s Diamond Twinstars. All the best Marcus

Hi all Thought the following might be of interest! Ex Virgin 747 G-VZZZ , is a Boeing 747-219B (c/n 22722) built new for Air New Zealand (ZK-NZV) and delivered to them on the 22nd May 1981. Now with the Russian carrier Transaero Airlines, which it joined on the 31st March 2005, it is registered in Bermuda as VP-BQE and was seen at Phuket International Airport on 29th April 2007.05.20, signifying that this popular Thai tropical island is increasingly becoming popular among Russian holiday makers.

The Crusader was once owned by the Stevenson family (as in Stevensons & Sons of building fame) and was flown by Bryan Cox.
Thanx for the info. Wish I had known about it earlier. While making the cover for the DVD I tried to get as much info about the plane as I could. Found very little, except what one can get on the net. For interest sake the pilot flying the Crusader the day was Norman Kensington. He was flying a charter from Hams to Wellington.
All the best

Hi all
Not sure if we have any para-gliders amongst us… but if we do hope you chaps will enjoy the following clip. I made the vid more then a year ago and burned it as an AVI to DVD. Today I stumbled on a way of putting the clip back onto my pc (the original long since deleted from my hard drive) and re-editing it or in this case saving it as a wmv.
I had taken my daughter and some of her friends to Raglan for the day. While having something to eat at the picnic spot at the top of the cliff above the beach I was fortunate to get some good footage of the para-glider pilots flying along the cliff.
Have a great week

Hi all
Last Sunday 22-04-07, the Wespac rescue chopper based at Waikato hospital had it's anual public openday. While we were walking around taking photos the BOP rescue chopper flew in from Rotorua with a patient onboard. I took the following video when it landed.
Go well

I saw and heard the Harvards, I didnt realise that the Corsair was there as well... bummer I missed it!.
Bruce, she did not fly during the show segment. Apparently she came in on Friday and was put into Super Air's hangar. Would have loved to see her fly!!!!

The event was marked by the handing over of the “keys” and a small airshow during the afternoon. Here are some photos of the aircraft that were present. I am working on the video and as soon as I have that finished I will post it to the group. Have a good week Marcus
