I would go with the VULCAN as there was a pic of a Vulcan wearing a Kiwi insignia (does that count) on the side more than a few years back.
Having done the Hypoxia course at Hobson Base I Suspect any lack of Oxygen over 30000foot would be less than 30 seconds by quite a margin....

Having just read the latest copy of Pacific Wings I must say the content is lacking in whats happening in NZ Aviation. Don't get me wrong I like anything Aviation related but would prefer to have NZ content in a NZ / Pacific magazine. I also note some articles from periods in NZ Wings past ... this to me smacks of page filling. I say this because I like looking back but 3 whole pages of it.... There are two NZ related stories in the News section. 8 pages on the Aircare issue which i think is a tad excesive. A historical peice no prob's there an Airshow in Spain how relevant is that to NZ. Flight Path TV no issue there as two avtion NZ lads doing good and with NZ content. The aviation in the Phillipines hows that relivant to NZ another Historical All good again. Like Aviation News which I think is heading down the same road as Pacific wings although not as bad not a good sign. Surely there are enough Aviation related news and Stories in NZ and interesting people in Aviation in NZ. Just look at KiwiFlyer they are pretty much using all NZ content so why are the others as mentioned above not able to do the same. It seems to me a lot of content has came straight from the Royal Aeronautical Society publication..... be interested in hearing you views on the above. Attachments:

It actually comes down to what the Mission profiles will be required in the future.
Lift capability will be hugely required due to the ever increasing Natural Disasters occurring World wide. This means the ability to lift as much as possibly as fast and as quickly as can be mustered. I mean look at the RAAF response to Japan Earthquake. Basically the whole fleet bar one Aircraft was tasked to that theatre. The other things to confuse the situtation will be further conflict around the planet as resources become few and more expensive and prices rise shortages occur and they will.
The second requirement is for Chopper lift Capability to above indicated Missions. This is as we all know Choppers are required ASAP so an airlifter that can do this is a must.
Whilst in Aussie when the Queensland Floods were on the C-17's also the C-130 H & J's were packed to the Gunnells delivering Food Supplies to places like Mackay,Townsville, Cairns, and lots of place in between as road transport had been cut for weeks and months in some places and the Shelves in Super Markets were empty. Never seen that before in my life.
Since most places only have 3 days grace before food starts to run out medinces are not obtainable Airlift Capability is more important than anything else.
Yes we do need an Andver replacement as most Pacific Countries cannot handle the big airlifters and some are even marginal for the C-130.
