I concur couldn't really remember if AD's or SIDS ta for clearing that up.
Yes the light stuff like all aircraft do have there issues. I think more and more people are actually looking at fuel consumption now when deciding on what there next ride is. I mean take the Great Planes Sonarei for instance 135kts on 80hp power at 12 lph in the cruise or less. G limits depending on how many ribs ya put in 11plus and the best and most well balanced aerobat.

With the world wide AD on ageing Cessna's happening I dare say quite a few will be heading to the Knackers yard. The expense of repair far out weighing economic repair.... As newer LSA and Microlights being cheaper and with better fit out than there ageing counter parts.
While I am here some friends are looking for a dead Cessna to pop in the Garden as a garden ornament so if anyone knows of one in presentable condition let me know.

Around a month ago a group of Local and previous Locals and invited guests gathered at Stratford Aerodrome for the first practice session in Clear Stratford Skies. Aircraft in Attendance were .......
Sonarei's ZK-SNW,ZK-SND,ZK-SNJ
Starlet ZK-ONE
RV-4 ZK-RVH
RV-8 ZK-MRMThis day was to practice Buzz & Breaks and by all accounts was a successful day. As we all no Formation work takes a lot of effort but is hugely rewarding. At Stratford we have these ready made pylons care of Transpower which is rather helpful. Anyhoo heres a link to some pic's of the Team at rest. blogspotbigsky.blogspot.co.nz/

I flew my Jodel D11 into WN Christmas day 2009 there about an hour and half moved round all the good spots like the Terminal to get me pic taken RNZAF hard stand another pic. then to Aero Club and then out via the Titahi Bay departure.
Blowing 30knots when Landed and gusting 35 to 40plus on Take Off. No sweat for the Jodel.
Airport $40 and Airways $4.30
Great day and thanks to the Airport WN handling Spiro's the Man and all the Team up the Tower.
It was a HOOT.

What a lot of you seem to forget is Aero Clubs of Yester year were made up of Members who VOLUNTEERED there time at no cost and still do around the Country. The biggest cost saving for AERO CLUBS was the awesome amount of people that freely offered there time to help there respective clubs out and included all manner of things. If these weren't done by Members it would have cost commercially which most clubs just couldn't afford. So from the past to know Clubs are held up by the Members/Volunteers under them. ;D Also we all know CFI's B,C,D cats were working 3 jobs a day plus flying just to eat in some places so along comes funding suddenly they are all in demand Shock Horror the price goes up and they start to get paid like they should always been. I mean with NP with CFI and 2 x Bcats that's around $200.000 before ya fly a plane. Also if clubs don't update to the new state of the Art aircraft there is no way they gonna compete in the long run as C-152's and Tomahawks are now to old school use to much gas and are heavy on Maitinance. I noted the introduction of a tecnam to a club around November last year. the day it was on show before going into fleet it was oversubscribed by 25 people and it flew 10 hours that day. It now has over 261 hours I rest my case. people are also flying it indifference to the Tommies. I rest my case it's clear update your fleet LSA or Microlight or you will go under. In conclusion all I can say is Clubs will survive with one thing and one thing only ...........!!!!!!!!!!! VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEERS ;D ;D ;D ;D

Brett Cudby was a true Master Craftmen in every way when it came to the RC Aircraft he built and they were stunning examples of the modellors art. Brett unfortnately was tragically killed whilst in pursuit of his Hobby. He was electrocuted whilst doing something in the process of Charging his Batteries. The cause is still under investigation. He was 46 years He was a great guy many interests including full scale aviation but Scale RC Choppers were his main thing and people sort his help from all over the world........ At the Warbirds over Awatoto fly-in at Napier he was sadly missed as he was a regular flyer there. His Corsair and other Aircraft were on display. The guys did the missing man formation at the end of the show hardly a dry eye in the place. This was from one of the Heli Boards re his Funeral... it had a very generous portion of warm laughter- remembering Brett. Besides a large contingent from the local club- there were fliers from all over the North Island. In the chapel on display were several of his helis- plus a good selection of his planes- including his stunning Corsair. Our good friend Colin P. got up and listed the names of people around the world who had been in touch with him in the past week- all passing along their support to Bretts' family and friends. It was an impressively long list- filled with many names that us scale boys recognized. The final speakers were from the Taranaki club. They said that just 2 days before he died- Brett was part of the program at a outdoor venue. He flew with his usual flair and skills- and the crowd there really enjoyed what they were watching. Then as the dusk was settling over the field- Brett got out his wee quad rotor that was covered in lights- and flew into the night- until he was all out of batteries. When it was time for Brett to be taken out of the chapel- all of the RC Modelers were invited to form an 'honor guard' from the doors of the chapel to the rear of the hearse. The size of this crowd was very impressive- a fitting farewell for someone who was as special as Brett. Our thoughts go to his wife Shelly, their 4 kids and 1 grandchild. He was very experienced Modellor so lets be careful out there. Taken far to early a real gentleman... Attachments:

Even the older issues had one international story but reversed and very few NZ stories.
There are more than enogh stories issues going on in NZ to fill the mag just seems the motive to have it in there is not there.
