Its a great museum that I haven't been to for ages, thanks for posting. From my dark and distant memory, some of those displays haven't changed since the museum opened and haven't changed but they still look great.

That font of indepth knowledge, known as Newshub, had the RNZAF P-8 rollout story up for over a day stating it had a Haast Eagle on the tail!. Are we surprised. Some thought they were for another air force, Aotearoa Air Force Oh, then these must be the on new Cessna P-8.....

Coast Guard hercules flew into Whenuapai this afternoon. I got a late photo as the plane was so quiet and not on fight radar. Will try to find my account to load the pic

Great clips, wish I could have seen it move in person. Would have be brilliant to have that moved on to Motat or Wigrim.

Did anyone see the 737 fly into Whenuapai this afternoon? So frustrated that I wasn't able to get a pic but I think it was an Aussie p-8 but there was nothing on flight radar. Does anyone have any photos?

I want to go for drive by Whenuapai on a week day when I can, but I suspect there will be very little to see based on the the comments about Woodbourne. I have also heard a similar story about the Sea Sprite and numbers on the flight line. Is there a planned date for the arrival of the J models?

Hello, It was a privilege to have met you at your book launch in Takapuna a few years back. It was brilliant and the crowd you drew was impressive. Take care and as above, 'may you feel better soon'

It needs to come into Whenuapai, from an easterly direction from after midday with a enough of a warning to get my camera out. Have seen the A400, Globemasters, Aussie C 130J, the KC-390 and the Japanese P 1 flying in, suddenly feeling like I need this for the complete collection.... Pity I haven't seen a P8 and the Wedgetails seem to go in in the dark....Who can I talk to about that???

Just watched an Orion on long finals fly over home with the port outer engine prop feathered. With all the coverage about the engine failure recently, do they practice approaches with one engine down?

Thanks TS, that rings a few bells. I was doing my ppl at the time through North Shore and I am sure the aircraft was sold soon after that with a a history of an aircraft that was loved by some or not at all liked. I think the tide was on its way out, so were very lucky and had to wait until it was fully out for take off. Just trying to recall when.

I took these in the 80's or 90's at Waiake Beach on Aucklands North Shore. From memory it had enging problems and put down on the beach which was an impressive effort. After repairs and waiting for low tide off it went again with a climbing left turn to miss the cliffs, equally as impressive. Pullud up on the ramp for repairs Getting ready URL=http://s375.photobucket.com/user/markwa98/media/getting%20ready%20to%20go.jpg.html] [/URL] Up and running Off it goes. Anyone else remeber the details?
