C17 into whenuapai this morning. Beautiful sight in the morning sky. No idea of its nationality.... you sure it didn't have a kiwi roundel on it ? Was too dark to see, but with the confirmation I wasn't dreaming I doubt it. Although I'm sure with the early morning arrival and with the distraction of the morning ahead in Wales, surely someone could have added a kiwi roundel and claimed it for the RNZAF before the sun was fully up.....

3x Iroquois out at Whenuapai now, came up for a Reunion and farewell. Got out the in time to see the 3 return, 11,16 and 14. Seem to be the same 3 doing the tour. I am very pleased to have got some pictures especially as 11 flew down the road so the sun was in the right position. Now just need to remember where my account is to put them on line, might have to go to facebook perhaps.

I was looking at the peoples mosquito page and found the DVD "A Wooden Wonder Restored"Has anybody seen or got this, just wondering what it was like? The preview looks great so will happily consider buying one if it is good, having, like many of us, followed KA114's return to the sky. www.aviationfilm.com/shop/dvds/mossiedvd.shtmlAnd no, I do not have any connection with the movie or supplier's

Cheers Kevin Randles Craig Robinson Kevin Rounthwaite Terry Salmon Peter Salt Errol Schroder Dave Sewell Gareth Shaw Skelton Russell Smith I went to school with Russell Smith's brother, anyone know where he ended up? (no I don't mean his brother I mean Russell)

Love the posting Graham. Very similar experience to, picked up the phone book and got talking. Next trip to Rotorua I visited with my family and absolutely love children as my daughter left with a packet of Barley sugars and a packet of biscuits. He said the same about people 'borrowing' photo's etc for research but not returning them. I still look back at the 2 pics I have of him and can think of many more questions I would love to have asked but time waits for no man....

I agree with you dave, I liked the park and ride idea, my biggest frustration from all of the shows I have been to is that everybody else decides to go home the same time as me and there is only one exit gate. I didn't realise I was so popular Except for the baby being due the line up just didn't grab me, I am very much a fan of vintage aircraft. But it is amazing what comes from an idea. If my memory serves me correctly, didn't the wanaka show start as a fly in??(happy to be wrong over that one)

Not a good sign for the future of this show. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10864433I am not going to speculate or comment other than I do find this sad to read hope that no one gets badly burned(financially). And yes I am one of those aucklanders that didn't go, the beach was far more inviting and I have been waiting for my son to be born so not given permission to attend....

Thanks for posting, great pic's Was wondering what was happening, saw the wee bit on the news last night, nothing much on their facebook page and not a lot else anyhere out there.... I might go tomorrow depending on the streaming view, but the cost does make it doubtful, the curse of the start of the school year is draining all my money!

Don't give up Sputnik 767. Each according to his/her ability. Or, if you do give up, don't pack your kits away, donate them to me! The P-40M is wonderful. I love it. I doubt I will ever build anything as good. And the exhausts are brilliantly painted ... but I think they are the wrong exhausts, not being fishtails ...? I wonder what scale it is and what the base kitset is? I was thinking about the scale, thought I was just blind to it. It is good to see that alhough good the eagle eyes have been able to provide constructive feedback. I have a couple of m kits, one to do as 3072, I was lucky enough to meet Mr Fisken a couple of times in rotorua. The other is 3119 as I saw the a/c when Don was based at North Shore airfield. I think I just have to stop looking at this site, find other projects for my 2 year old helper, wait for my son to be born (due feb), get him sleeping through the night and I will get back modeling. I also still need to figure out how these babies keep appearing, I have some idea's but if anyone else has researched this please let me know.......

How about sticking some RNZAF P-40E dataplates on it, and sending the F-model ones to TFC then? That would make everyone happy surely? ;D Hear hear...logical and simple.......
