A US Coast Guard C130 has just headed into Whenuapai. I bet they will be typical tourists arriving in the weekend and complaining that nothing is open..... The pics I got were rubbish due to the low cloud and rain, will see if I can tidy one up to post.

Flew over my place on finals sometime around 830 last night. Couldn't see the markings so now I know. Could somebody please tell them at Whenuapai to only fly in when there is enough light for me to get a pic or 2......

Hey let's rescue both, after all what could be better than a pair ? But wait....taking inspiration from the spectacular Twin Mustang rebuild nearing completion (or maybe the latest replay of "Flight of the Phoenix") why not splice the two together ? ************************************ Designation: XB-340 Dual-Freighter. Project Name: "Bivrator" Concept design plans invited. No enhancement of ideal original performance specs necessary. Only serious proposals considered. No prize for the winner just the glory from having the most elegant design selected. ********************************** You'd need to set up "The Weka Worx" to undertake such a herculean task but think how few could resist paying a modest admission fee to admire the glamorous result. You wouldn't want to try and pronounce that name after one drink too many...... Funniest thing I have heard since Donald Trump opened his mouth, unless he was buying mosquito and having it built down here....best of british, I mean USA

I posted a pic of the Wings of Cam facebook page of the herc on finals to Whenuapai. Keen to know any more details of this aircraft, just the general stuff I mean. Oddly enough I have a photo of a couple of the same model doing circuits into WP a year ago to the day when I looked at the photo as I almost posted the wrong one.

Went to the first session, sadly my son decided it was home time before the second. Fantastic flying, brilliant day, huge crowd, long lines of traffic to get in. Thank you Warbirds for a great display. Also thank you RNZAF nice to finally see a Texan and NH90 in Auckland the flesh. Now there just needs to be a big show at Whenuapai....

To finally get over that age old quandary of where to place threads about foreign aeroplanes visiting RNZAF bases, I have created a new board specifically for the purpose and moved this thread in there. (Bout Time!!) Thanks, you have no idea of the stress you put me under on where to place this.....

Followed by a RNZAF King air about 30 minutes later, Does this mean the Wedgetail is being considered as a fleet transport and Orion replacement?

A genuine RNZAF aircraft, in RNZAF markings, a combat veteran to boot, AND in the USA!! Amazing, and thanks for sharing your pics with us. Unfortunately, and based on casual observation of various other P-40's over many years, one has to ask if anyone is prepared to bet as to how long it will remain without the almost obligatory sharks teeth? So far the owners haven't succumbed to temptation, so one can but hope... Just wondering if anyone has got any updates? Has it returned to the skies after it's bumps with the ground a few years back?
