Too bad there will probably never be a Battle of Britain sequel to this, make it a 1940/Finest Hour combo.

I see a new trailer for 'Dunkirk' has been released this week, doesn't look bad;

Nice! On average how long does each drawing take?

For those around the country that get 'Britain at War' magazine, this months issue has a feature article on Jimmy Ward's exploits, not bad art work on the cover either. I get the magazine in Palmerston North, not sure who else around the country sells it, but obviously focuses on Britain and the Commonwealth in all conflicts. Although in NZ we are normally a month behind so will probably go on sale here in December. www.britainatwar.com/view_issue.asp

Everyday is pretty much an airshow, 3 Texans in 'Vic' formation just flew over the house then peeled off, always reminds me of the Battle of Britain film when they do that. Also get the King Airs, Hercs, NH90's and Orion's, and always good when the American's visit (Even when the Globemaster's are warming up their engines and it makes the house shake). Always special when I can sit on the deck and the Spitfire and Avenger fly over the house at a pretty low height, feels like you can stand up and touch them half the time.

I live on a property at the back of the airbase, would be amusing to drop a bomb on my own house!

Cal do you have any photographs of your own time on the island or your service in general? I am sure we would all be fascinated to see them if you did.

This may have been posted before but I stumbled across this great 1990 video on Youtube on flying the P-40.

An amazing story I have read several times and it always fascinates me, out of interest what happened to Ganley after this experience? Did he fly an further tours?

First time I had seen this. I wonder what happened to the blokes they introduced about 3 minutes in?

Found the series on youtube and it is impressive. There is a good episode on the RAAF in the Pacific with some great footage of Beaufighters strafing targets in the water.

A very good film. I haven't seen the footage of the Avengers before, makes you wonder what undiscovered footage there is out there of the RNZAF in the Pacific.

I'm sure they will be snapped up pretty quickly, I even downloaded an app on my phone recently to learn basic morse code.
