Thanks for the names of all the other model shops, guys. I will go out this weekend, and have a look through them.

Thats the same as the hobby city in the city too. There used to be one whole row devoted to 1:72, and one whole row devoted to 1:48. Now they are squashed together, and mixed together as well... Yet there must be well ovewr 100 r/c planes, as well as r/c cars and boats. I actually like r/c, but do we need as many r/c planes as kitset planes? really?

I have just spent a disappointing afternoon at hobby city in Auckland Central. I remember a time in Auckland when Hobby City, and Acorn Models, had huge selections of aircraft model kits. Then Acorn closed down. Hobby City had a decent range of kit sets, but go in there recently, and the aircraft OF ALL SCALES are on only 1 half a row in the entire shop... It is now full of remote control planes, and cars... Where in Auckland do people buy their Model plane kitsets from?

Just got this model given to me for my birthday, so I'll post a pic when I'm done. Still a bit nervous about starting it. I've never built a proper paper aeroplane before... fingers crossed it all goes well. By the way, what sort of glue is best recommended for putting one of these together?

I have seen this web site, and find it an enjoyable past time looking through the very comprehensive collection of photographs he has.

i have known about this site for over a year now, and my norton anti virus never picked up a threat... i don't ever click on any of the banners, or course... And its on that aviation top 100, who i wouldn't think would have this page if it was a virus hub...

This is possibly the best site i have ever come across for profiles of aircraft ranging from WW1 right up until present day, including many RNZAF examples. They are also adding aircraft profiles all the time, as well as profiles on aces from all time periods. All profiles are broken up into categories, which i won't explain here, as the web page is pretty self explanatory. wp.scn.ru/

A Hudson in No. 3 (GR) Squadron was called 'Tutae Wera', which translates from Maori to English as 'Shit Hot' Interestingly in my research into the GR and BR squadrons I have interviewed a crewmember from that aircraft and another from the Ventura 'Slippery Sam' Wasn't Corsair NZ5416 called "Tutae Wera"? It was with 3SU.

It could be a propganda shot. I saw an interesting doco once about Allied model makers during the war, who's principal job was to make model German and British planes to film dogfighting, so the british public could see their boys doing something. It was very facinating. Also the Germans had a mock plane made up, which was made out to be the replacement for the ME109, but was just a model...

Hi All. This is the first plane i have posted pics of. I've noticed not many people do not do commercial aircraft of NZ, so i am planning on doing some NAC aircraft, the friendship, DC3, and dominie, and i have finished a Viscount. This is a 1/96 scale Vickers Viscount. I painted it with the help of the brilliant NAC book, which which was recently released. I made the decals myself. I am not a brilliant modeler, or a rivet counter, but i enjoyed making it, and i hope you enjoy the pics. Enjoy.

Here i was thinking i was beeng smart. I've got hundreds of pictures set as my screen saver at work, and it popped up, and i thought, hey the kiwi's are on backwards...
How many times do you reckon the syndicate gets told about it? You'd think they'd turn it round.
