The UK edition hardback is out this month. Vince has seen an advance copy and is chuffed with it.

Little 250-word review for this should be appearing in the next issue of Flightpath. Bloody good Christmas present.

I do have it but haven't read it yet. Very attractive looking book and a good, rare subject. Have you been looking on Abebooks? I believe Pen & Sword brought out either a reprint under a different title or something very similar recently. Here you go - www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Fire-by-Order-Paperback/p/3720 - paperback on sale. Not as nice as a hardback and the cover isn't as eclectic as the original (http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Fire-By-Order-Hardback/p/31) but... This is the other one I was thinking of - www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Army-Wings-Hardback/p/992

I still remember the late night phone call I got from my future best man, Steve Bridgewater, with the news of Mark's death.

Have a great weekend, everyone. Really looking forward to seeing Alan and Jim up in the Spit. Well done, Dave, for pulling it all together.

IIRC, Jim Robinson is one of the signatories of the Hostile Company Ron Fulstow print?

Hi James
Thanks for taking the time to post. Are you in touch with Mr Peel (the man who was visiting relatives in NZ and Aus)?

Apparently the old chap is saying he can't remember a thing. My favourite line from the police yesterday was that the passenger was in hospital with head injuries and that the injuries were not caused by the landing...
Young pilot did well. Pan Pan call, played on the news, was well done while wrestling both the aircraft and the passenger.

It's being worked on, Dave. It's always been one of the greatest bug bears of the museum but with the new 'management' (it now has a higher public profile and greater patronage AND more active work on the aircraft) things are certainly looking up.
Proud to be a member.

One of the greats. RIP.
Reminds me of when Jimmy Stewart died shortly after Robert Mitchum in the '90s. Never met any of these people but very much a part of my life.

Stupid question. If we raise more does that mean Alan can have a longer flight?

Cool, cheers, Dave. I've been carrying it around in my wallet thinking/hoping I'd be able to spend it with a quick follow-up visit but that hasn't happened. Just surprised myself when I looked and found NZ$60. There must have been a reason why I 'forgot' about it and now I know why.

Dave, I have some cash sitting around from my last NZ trip. Can I send it over to you as a contribution to Alan's flight?
