Stan Knighton was an Engineering Officer and was MFC 75 Sqdn in the late '70's. I think he got out after his Air NZ Resident Engineer stint at Harewood in the early '80's. He formed a hydraulic hose company with Barry Watts but I haven't heard of either for some time. Another character missed..

Sorry to hear Ted Patterson has passed away. Family friend and grew up with the Patterson kids at the Woodbourne married patch. Found this photo from 1972 - that's Ted second row far right ( as you look at it ). WO with Pilots Wings. Lovely guy.

Chief of Air Staff Commendation (1973): For outstanding zeal and devotion to duty. Citation Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (QB1974): Not available. During 1944-1945 W/O Patterson trained as a pilot in NZ, gaining his ‘wings’ in Jul 1945, and was then posted to the aircrew pool at RNZAF Ardmore. He rejoined the RNZAF in 1949 as an engine mechanic, rising to the master trade of engine fitter. He became W/O i/c of the Engine Reconditioning Squadron at Woodbourne, which duty included a visit to the US to assess spares support for the introduction of the Skyhawk into the RNZAF and the establishment of its engine overhaul facilities at Woodbourne. He also visited England to assess requirements prior to the setting-up of a similar facility for the Rolls Royce Viper engine fitted to Strikemasters. WHITLEY, Owen Leslie: (Reg. No. 819979 RNZAF) Passed peacefully on July 22, 2016, at Christchurch Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Patricia. Loved Dad and father-in-law of Brian and Jennifer, Allan and Angela, and Murray and Jenny. Loved and treasured Grandad to Amy, Jonathan, Matthew; Celia, Christopher; Jessica, and Shawn, and dearly loved by his great-grandchildren. Owen was a loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and a great friend to many. Husband of the late Olive. Father of Dorothy and John (Waihi), Margaret-Ellen (New York), Christine and Kyros (Whitford), John and Holly (Colorado), and father-in-law of Eda (Waihi Beach). Grandfather of James and Penny, Katherine and Shane, Alister and Nicole, Rhea, Charles Katrina, and Marek. Great grandfather of 5. Passed away peacefully after a very short illness at Palms Hospital Pukekohe. Special thanks to those who supported him at home including Patrick Hewett, Marama Powhiro and the team at Counties Home Care - especially Lee-Ann, Tina and Sally.
